Spain's pilots fly for scheduled airlines, island and regional carriers, helicopter operators and the schools that train the next intake. Air Europa, Binter and Air Nostrum recruit captains and first officers; Avincis and SAF Aerogroup fly helicopters for emergency medical services and aerial firefighting; and Airbus, Atexis and flight schools such as Leading Edge Aviation hire instructors for aircraft and simulators.
This page follows the role rather than the company, so an advert joins when its own title names a flying or flight-training job. Drone operators, test drivers and other titles that only use the word "pilot" are left out. Most roles ask for an EASA licence (ATPL or CPL) issued or validated through AESA, Spain's aviation safety agency, a Class 1 medical certificate and, for airline seats, a type rating or the hours to begin one. Check each advert for its base, contract, roster and language requirements.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Which employers are hiring pilots in Spain?
- This page lists 14 live adverts from 8 employers, including airlines such as Air Europa, Binter and Air Nostrum, helicopter operators such as Avincis and SAF Aerogroup, and simulator and flight-training providers.
- What licence do I need to fly in Spain?
- Spain applies the EU's EASA rules, administered by AESA. Airline captains need an ATPL; first officers usually hold a CPL with instrument and multi-crew training or an ATPL theory credit. Helicopter, instructor and examiner roles have their own ratings. Each advert lists the licence, hours and type rating it expects.
- Do I need Spanish to work as a pilot in Spain?
- Flight operations use English, and pilots need an ICAO English language proficiency endorsement. Some Spanish operators also ask for Spanish for crew briefings, training and life at a domestic base. Each advert states its own language requirement.
- How is this different from Airlines & Airports?
- Airlines & Airports follows the employers and includes every role they advertise, from cabin crew to ground handling and head office. This page follows the job itself, so it only lists flying and flight-training roles, from airlines and any other employer.
