Chad is one of the countries most exposed to natural disasters and socioeconomic vulnerabilities. Its strategic position in the heart of Africa concentrates a large number of displaced populations in need of humanitarian aid. In this context, education in emergencies lacks the adequate infrastructure to provide quality education to the displaced children and adolescents who have settled with their families in the country. Likewise, student attendance at schools, conflicts, and family insecurity represent obstacles to creating permanent spaces. This project seeks to respond to the needs of vulnerable youth in this context. With the objective of strengthening the resilience of vulnerable children and adolescents affected by a humanitarian crisis in Chad, particularly in the Kaya department (Lake province), thereby guaranteeing their right to education, the planned results were: 1. Improvement of the material conditions of teaching, learning, and protection in 5 primary schools; 2. Improvement of the teaching and learning process in formal education and Child-Friendly Spaces (EAT); and, The 5 target schools become lasting, safe, and protective refuge-schools.
Regarding the evaluation, its functions are accountability, decision-making, and the identification of good practices and transferable lessons, and through a mixed methodology, it will be based on the standard evaluation criteria for cooperation and humanitarian action defined by AECID and the DAC/OECD. This will be a results-based and final evaluation, which must integrate gender and human rights approaches.
