The role

The project "Weaving the future: emotional and community well-being after the DANA" intervenes in municipalities within the affected territory. Its objective is to improve the lives of people in situations of vulnerability following the floods of October 2024, through a human rights, gender, and interculturality approach.

In the months since the DANA catastrophe suffered in the Valencian Community on October 29, 2024, the aftermath for the affected population—especially in the most vulnerable groups such as the elderly, women, youth, and migrant populations—remains profound and requires attention that transcends material emergency. Entreculturas has intervened from the beginning through socio-educational support and psychosocial accompaniment, detecting a high demand for emotional attention and a weakening of the social fabric in the affected municipalities.

In Paiporta, previous accompaniment work has allowed for the generation of a neighborhood mutual support network that operates through assemblies and listening and accompaniment groups. The current project seeks to consolidate this model and extend the intervention to various municipalities affected by the DANA.

In this framework, the project is oriented toward the participatory construction of neighborhood mutual support spaces and the strengthening of the social fabric in the territory, through:

  • The implementation of a mobile psychosocial device that prioritizes the dignity, emotional health, and inclusion of the affected people.

  • The promotion of intergenerational volunteering networks and community coexistence schools, ensuring a collective, resilient reconstruction with a gender and human rights approach.

  • The promotion of youth leadership as an engine for resilience and community commitment in the territory.

The person occupying this position will be part of the Citizenship area of Entreculturas, integrating into the team that promotes education for global citizenship and social mobilization.

Develop psychosocial accompaniment actions within the framework of the project, through individual and group care for people in situations of vulnerability, contributing to the improvement of their psychosocial well-being, the coping with crisis situations, and the strengthening of community processes, from a human rights, gender, and interculturality approach.

What you'll do

  • Participate in the deployment of the mobile psychosocial device alongside the technical team.

  • Detect emotional and psychosocial needs in participating people, to guide the team's intervention and case accompaniment.

  • Contribute to the development of group spaces for mutual support, listening, and accompaniment, favoring emotional well-being and community connection.

  • Collaborate in community and intergenerational participation processes, as well as in the support of neighborhood networks in the intervention municipalities, in order to contribute to collective emotional well-being.

  • Provide individual psychosocial accompaniment to people in situations of vulnerability, oriented toward emotional support and coping with crisis situations.

  • Design and facilitate group spaces for mutual support, emotional management, and accompaniment, favoring emotional well-being and resilience.

  • Develop workshops and group activities linked to emotional health, self-care, and coexistence.

  • Develop group interventions aimed at adolescents and youth oriented toward emotional accompaniment, management of psychosocial distress, and the strengthening of resilience.

Requirements

What we're looking for

Academic Training: Degree or Licentiate in Psychology. We will value complementary training in psychosocial intervention, crisis and emergency intervention, community mental health, trauma, gender, intervention with populations in situations of vulnerability, or psychological first aid.

Professional registration.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in direct psychosocial intervention with people in situations of vulnerability.

  • We will value experience in: intervention in emergency or crisis contexts; individual and group emotional accompaniment; facilitation of group spaces; intervention with youth populations; community work; intervention with migrant populations and/or women in situations of vulnerability.

  • Capacity for listening and emotional accompaniment.

  • Skills for group intervention and facilitation of support spaces.

  • Multidisciplinary teamwork.
