About the role

The Construction Manager will be responsible for the comprehensive management of construction, renovation and store opening projects, from the bidding and contracting phase through to execution, delivery and project close-out.

Their main objective will be to ensure that projects are executed on schedule, within the approved budget, with the required quality level and in accordance with design, construction and brand standards. Your main challenge will be to define and lead MANGO's Construction Management strategy, ensuring the efficient execution of Retail projects in more than 20 countries.

We are looking for a strategic, resourceful and results-oriented person, capable of anticipating problems, optimizing processes and guaranteeing deadlines, costs, quality and regulatory compliance.

What you'll do

A. Tender and contracting management

  • Analyze the project's technical documentation and define the scope of work to be tendered.

  • Prepare and coordinate construction tender processes with different contractors.

  • Request, analyze and compare economic and technical bids.

  • Prepare bid comparisons, identifying deviations, exclusions, alternatives and potential risks.

  • Negotiate prices, conditions, deadlines and scope with contractors.

  • Validate budgets and prepare award proposals.

  • Participate in the selection and hiring of the General Contractor / Construction Company.

  • Ensure that the contract clearly reflects scope, price, deadline, guarantees, responsibilities, penalties and change management.
     

B. Construction preparation and planning

  • Review the executive project before work begins.

  • Identify potential interferences, inconsistencies, omissions or project risks.

  • Supervise that work is executed in accordance with the project, technical specifications and brand standards.

D. Economic control

  • Control the budget of each project from award to close-out.

  • Monitor actual cost vs. budget.

  • Review progress certificates, invoices and additional costs.

  • Control and negotiate change orders and additional work.

  • Identify potential cost overruns in advance and implement corrective measures.

  • Keep the project's final forecast updated.

  • Participate in the economic close-out and variance analysis.

E. Store delivery and opening

  • Coordinate the final construction phase and snagging / punch list.

  • Ensure the resolution of all defects and outstanding work before delivery.

  • Coordinate final inspections, opening permits and necessary documentation.

  • Ensure the correct delivery of facilities and as-built documentation, manuals, warranties and certificates.

  • Carry out the final project close-out and document lessons learned.

F. Supplier and contractor management

  • Develop professional relationships with contractors and strategic suppliers.

  • Periodically evaluate their performance in terms of cost, schedule, quality and service.

  • Manage conflicts and issues with contractors, seeking effective solutions.

  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

  • Participate in the evaluation and approval of new contractors.

  • Promote continuous improvement of construction processes and standards.

Languages

Experience with AutoCAD

Good command of Office and project planning and management tools.

Fluent English, with negotiation skills. Other languages will be valued.
