About the role

From Paul Marlex we are collaborating with one of the main media and communication groups in Spain, immersed in an ambitious digital transformation process aimed at unifying the information from all its business units into a single data ecosystem. In this context, we are looking to hire a Data Governance Manager for their Madrid offices.

What you'll do

• Lead the Data Governance strategy and contribute to the consolidation of the area within the organization.

• Define and implement processes, methodologies, and operating models for proper data management.

• Prioritize and structure demand coming from the different business units, acting as a bridge between the business and technical teams.

• Coordinate with the Data Engineering and Data Architecture teams to ensure proper execution of initiatives.

• Support and develop the current team, providing structure, methodology, and leadership.

• Actively participate in the construction and growth of the Data area, defining processes and contributing to the evolution of the organization.

• Drive initiatives that improve data quality, governance, and usage within a cloud environment based on GCP.

What do we need from you?

• Higher education degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.

• At least 6 years of experience leading Data Governance initiatives.

• Ability to manage complex projects in a structured manner and with a results-oriented approach.

• Experience working with business profiles and technical teams, acting as a bridge between both.

• Knowledge or experience in cloud environments, especially Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, Data Lakes, and Dataflow.

• Experience in corporate organizations with multiple business areas.

• English level C1.

• Knowledge of the digital advertising ecosystem and leadership and influencing skills will be especially valued.
