About the role

Purpose of the role:

Provide support to the Business Cost Control area in the analysis, monitoring, and improvement of the economic control of maintenance costs associated with airline fleets, including aircraft, engines, and major aeronautical assets.

The position aims to contribute to the objective of "Improve business cost control," through learning and support in maintenance models, cost analysis, review of maintenance contracts, and application of warranty control systems and claims.

Key milestones & challenge:

Learn the main maintenance models for aircraft, engines, and aeronautical assets, understanding their technical, operational, and economic implications.

Understand the structure of airline fleet maintenance costs, including scheduled, unscheduled, materials, labor, external services, and major events.

Train in the analysis and monitoring of maintenance contracts, identifying scope, economic conditions, responsibilities, warranties, and claims mechanisms.

Provide support in the application of warranty control systems, claims, and cost recovery against suppliers, manufacturers, and MROs.

Support the improvement of reports, databases, and tools to strengthen the visibility and traceability of maintenance costs.

Contribute to the standardization of analysis, monitoring, and reporting criteria within the scope of Maintenance Models, Maintenance Costs, and Maintenance Contracts.

Business cost control support:

Provide support in monitoring airline fleet maintenance costs, including aircraft, engines, and major aeronautical assets.

Collaborate in the collection, validation, and analysis of economic information from contracts, work orders, invoices, operational reports, and internal systems.

Participate in the analysis of variances between budgeted, committed, and actual costs.

Support the preparation of economic control reports to facilitate team decision-making.

Contribute to identifying opportunities for improvement in the control, forecasting, and reduction of maintenance costs.

Help document processes, calculation criteria, and information sources to ensure consistency and traceability.

Maintenance models and cost understanding:

Learn and document the different maintenance models applicable to aircraft, engines, and aeronautical assets, including scheduled, unscheduled, on-condition, hourly/hours-cycle, comprehensive contracts, and power-by-the-hour models.

Analyze the economic impact of different maintenance models on the operation of an airline fleet.

Provide support in reviewing costs associated with maintenance events, inspections, repairs, overhauls, shop visits, modifications, and major components.

Collaborate in analyzing cost drivers, such as fleet utilization, flight hours, cycles, asset age, reliability, work scope, materials, and contractual conditions.

Support the development of comparisons and scenarios that allow understanding the evolution of maintenance costs.

Participate in improving calculation models and economic monitoring tools.

Maintenance contracts support:

Learn the structure and operation of maintenance contracts with manufacturers, MROs, workshops, service providers, and component suppliers.

Provide support in reviewing contractual clauses relevant to cost control: scope of service, pricing, exclusions, warranties, penalties, response times, service levels, and billing conditions.

Collaborate in monitoring the economic and operational compliance of maintenance contracts.

Support the preparation of comparative analyses of maintenance contracts, offers, or alternatives.

Help identify potential economic risks arising from contractual conditions, scope deviations, or unforeseen costs.

Contribute to keeping contractual information relevant to cost control up to date.

Warranty and claims control:

Learn the principles of applying warranties, claims, and cost recovery in maintenance contracts and agreements with manufacturers or suppliers.

Provide support in identifying events, repairs, or potentially claimable costs.

Collaborate in preparing and tracking claims files, gathering technical, economic, and contractual information.

Support the control of the status of open, accepted, rejected, or pending documentation claims.

Participate in updating warranty and claims tracking tools.

Contribute to improving traceability between maintenance events, billing, contractual conditions, and potential economic recoveries.

Requirements

Student or recent graduate in one of the following degrees:

Aerospace Engineering.

Business Administration or similar.

Degree in Aeronautical Management.

Valuable training or specific interest in aeronautical maintenance, cost management, contracts, controlling, purchasing, or fleet management.

Skills:

Minimum English level B2.

Proficiency in Office 365, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.

Analytical skills and a data-driven approach.

Interest in aeronautical maintenance and the economic management of fleets.

Ability to work with technical, economic, and contractual information.

Attention to detail and rigor in data handling.

Ability to learn and adapt to complex environments.
