Verda is expanding into new countries, and we're looking for two Senior Accountants to own the day-to-day accounting of our subsidiaries.
This is a hands-on role. You'll run the books on your own, coordinate with local advisors, and help build solid financial processes as we grow and bring our processes into line across the group. You'll be the finance point of contact for your subsidiaries. You'll work closely with our finance and accounting team and be the link between each subsidiary and its local accounting, tax and payroll providers.
Own day-to-day accounting for your subsidiaries from start to finish: bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
Manage local outsourced providers (accounting firm, payroll provider, local auditors) so statutory reporting is accurate and on time
Review your subsidiaries' monthly figures during month-end close under Finnish GAAP and group reporting requirements, with a focus on accruals, capex and intercompany transactions
Make sure each subsidiary meets its local statutory, tax (VAT, corporate tax and withholding where it applies) and regulatory filing requirements, with support from local advisors
Monitor cash flow so your subsidiaries always have enough funds
Find ways to streamline and improve local accounting processes and controls
Help set up and grow new subsidiaries: learn the local compliance requirements from advisors, set up the chart of accounts, roll out our AP approval tool and connect local bank accounts for outgoing payments
Location: Helsinki, Finland, at our office in Sanomatalo
Work model: Hybrid, with at least 3 office days per week
Employment: Full-time, permanent
There's no fixed deadline, but we move quickly once we find the right people, so we encourage you to apply early. Please apply through our Careers page; we don't accept applications by email.
