ACCIONA, within its Industrial business line, is looking to hire a Bid/Proposal Manager for its Madrid offices to work on EPC renewable energy projects.

Mission:

The role will be responsible for the complete preparation and delivery of assigned bids, within the Industrial-Renewables technologies (Photovoltaic, Wind, and Battery Storage), covering all bid areas (Technical, Commercial-Economic, and Legal-Administrative), from the time the bid is assigned until, in the best-case scenario, the contract is signed. Therefore, they will determine, among other key bid aspects, the price, schedule, and project performance, aspects that become contractual and bind the company throughout the entire execution of the work until its completion.

  • Reading the tender documents and client specifications, identifying timelines, key requirements, critical points, and the content required for the bid.
  • Clarifying any possible doubts with the Client to ensure the correct preparation of the bid.
  • Defining the bid strategy:
    • Bid schedule.
    • Internal and external resource needs.
    • Estimated budget for bid preparation.
    • Developing the strategy for presenting a winning bid (technically and commercially), by analyzing the Client's needs.
  • Coordinating the bid team, acting as leader and guide for its members, driving their performance and competency development:
    • Coordinating the internal and/or external technical team to develop the technical proposal according to the Client's requirements.
    • Requesting and obtaining technical and commercial offers from potential main suppliers and subcontractors, which requires maintaining and enhancing relationships with suppliers, with the ability to collaborate effectively on projects of this type and complexity.
    • Preparing the budget, considering the tender requirements and Client specifications, the developed bid engineering, the obtained supplier quotations, and the necessary inputs from the applicable company departments. This requires fostering collaborative work among bid team members and the rest of the company's departments, enabling greater value contribution to bids from all involved parties.
    • Preparing the commercial offer based on the developed budget (Client pricing schedule, cash flow, payment milestones,...).
    • Coordinating the legal-administrative offer with the applicable departments within the company (contract management, legal, finance, quality and environment, health and safety, sustainability, compliance,...).
    • If the bid is prepared jointly with a partner, coordinating relationships and work with them as well.
    • Additionally, during bid preparation, coordinating relationships with the Client.
  • Defending the bid during the various closing sessions. This includes conducting a competitiveness analysis of the offer, based on market trends, and an analysis of the differentiating value of our proposal, as well as an analysis of technical, commercial, legal, and financial risks.
    • Pre-closing internally within the Bids department.
    • Closing with the Industrial / Operations Management.
    • If applicable, closing sessions with the Construction / Infrastructure Management.
  • Integrating and delivering the bid according to the Client's requirements.- After presenting the bid to the Client:
    • Defending the bid before the Client and/or coordinating the necessary clarifications during the Client's bid evaluation phase.
    • In the event of award, participating in the contractual negotiation on all aspects of the contract related to the bid.
    • Preparing a bid dossier / Zero Report to facilitate the project kick-off for the Operations team.

Requirements

  • Civil Engineer (Ingeniero Superior de Caminos, Canales y Puertos) or Industrial Engineer.
  • An MBA is valued.
  • At least 10 years of experience in managing bids/departments, preparing proposals, and cost control/estimating.
  • Additionally, previous experience in projects is required.
  • Reference projects and bids should be in renewable technologies, preferably Photovoltaic, Wind, and Battery Storage.
  • Additional experience in high-voltage bids and projects (Transmission Lines and Substations) is highly valued.
  • High level of English.
  • Advanced training and/or knowledge in project management, leadership skills, and organizational abilities with functional teams under their responsibility.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, Primavera/Project, Presto, Autocad.
  • At least user-level proficiency in RatedPower and PVSyst.
