AI Associate Insurance (Internship)

Afori is an AI-first startup that allows insurance brokers to offer the best possible service at scale. We develop specialized AI agents that understand insurance processes and automate back-office work, starting with the most frequently used tool in a broker's daily life: the email inbox.

Supported by a €4M seed funding (12x oversubscribed) from General Catalyst as well as renowned angel investors and founded by an experienced team (previously building the insurtech unicorn wefox), we are building the next generation of agentic AI for the insurance industry at Afori.

As an AI Associate Insurance Intern, you will help make our AI agents "insurance-ready."

You will work directly on the APDB (Afori Proprietary Database), the knowledge and data foundation of our AI. Your work ensures that Afori can truly understand and correctly apply insurance processes, products, and rules.

The internship is hands-on and lies at the intersection of insurance, data, and AI.

• Building and further developing an AI knowledge database with high-quality insurance expertise
• Active collaboration on the design of our AI roadmap, particularly in the structured enrichment of insurance knowledge and the intelligent linking of relevant data sources
• Conception of approaches for how AI results can be meaningfully integrated into our product and made usable for insurance brokers
• Creation and maintenance of datasets to optimize our AI agents
• Definition of rules, logics, and processes that control agentic AI workflows for an insurance broker

• Strong interest in insurance, AI, data, or automation. Ideally, prior knowledge in the insurance environment (studies, training, internships)
• A very structured, careful way of working
• Ability to prepare complex content in a clear and logical manner
• Curiosity and willingness to learn
• Very good German skills (content is predominantly in German)
• English for internal communication

• Working on real AI systems, not on theoretical tasks
