About the role

An opportunity for an ISR Mission Systems Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid)

As ISR Mission Systems engineer the candidate will be integrated in a team in charge of developing ISR Mission Systems for several Aircrafts as C295, RPAS/UAS, A400M, etc. The activities to be performed are mainly focused on system detailed design (Functional requirements, modelling & prototyping, Subsystem Specs, ICDs, Drawings, Equipment Integration, etc.) and supplier technical steering considering a V-shape development framework.

This also considers the V&V activities associated as product laboratory validation, support A/C ground and flight Testing, etc. to achieve the full Qualification and Certification of the product.

Required skills

Required skills for a suitable candidate are:

  • Technical Profile (no management)
  • Expertise in ISR Mission & Avionics disciplines is greatly appreciated
  • Previous knowledge/experience in ISR missions as Maritime surveillance/Patrol, antisubmarine warfare, AGS, EW, etc would be considered very positively
  • Good knowledge of Mission Sensors & Subsystems as Optronics systems, Radar (SAR, MPR, etc.),SIGINT/ELINT/ESM/COMINT, ASW warfare sensors, etc.
  • Good knowledge of Displays, Navigation Systems, Computing Platforms, Transponders, etc.
  • Good knowledge of UAS and/or Manned Mission Systems
  • Excellent knowledge of development & integration activities, from requirements capture to verification/validation activities to achieve a qualified/certified system. That includes engineering fields as safety, quality assurance, configuration control, etc. applied to Mission Systems
  • Good knowledge of procurement activities, from supplier selection to control and monitoring activities.
  • Proactiveness is a must
  • Good communication skills, assertiveness and willingness to travel
  • Strong Spanish and English skills, both verbal and written
