The role
What you'll do
1. Installation & Project Delivery
Responsible for on-site installation, commissioning, integration, acceptance, and production ramp-up of automatic packaging machines (auto bagging/sleeving, case sealing, on-demand carton cutting, weighing & labeling) and sorting systems (cross-belt/sliding shoe/divert wheel sorters + scanning DWS induction lines).
Coordinate with equipment suppliers and integrators, managing delivery milestones, technical solution reviews, and on-site issue resolution.
Lead hardware solutions and project delivery for non-standard retrofit projects (packaging/sorting line throughput optimization, induction line upgrades, etc.), driving cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
2. Maintenance & Operations Support
Establish and execute preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) programs to ensure equipment availability and production line stability during both daily operations and peak promotional periods.
Responsible for troubleshooting and tuning of PLC/electrical control, VFD drives, pneumatic systems, heat-sealing/labeling units, belt/chain/roller mechanical transmission, photoelectric sensors, and scanning units.
Handle daily troubleshooting of sorting control software (WCS) interfaces, as well as spare parts management, system upkeep, and preventive upgrades to extend equipment lifespan.
3. Standards, Procurement & Governance
Develop engineering construction and O&M standards for packaging/sorting equipment, ensuring implementation through training and certification.
Define technical standards and acceptance criteria for equipment procurement, promoting framework procurement to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Establish single-site equipment evaluation mechanisms (availability/failure rate/OEE dashboards, process audits, issue reviews), proactively identifying and preventing risks and asset losses.
4. Safety & Compliance
Ensure equipment CE compliance, EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, and applicable Spanish occupational safety regulations (Ley de Prevención de Riesgos Laborales / RD 1215/1997 on work equipment safety).
