Brave is on a mission to protect the human right to privacy online. We've built a free web browser that blocks creepy ads and trackers by default, a private search engine with a truly independent index, private AI assistant, latest privacy and security features, and a private ad network (opt-in!) that directly rewards you for your attention. Already over 120 million people regularly use Brave for a faster, more private web. Millions more switch every month.
The internet is a sea of ads, hackers, and echo chambers. Big Tech makes huge profits off our data, and tells us what's true and what's not. Brave is fighting back. Join us!
We are looking for a researcher/research engineer to help mitigate the security risks that come with building AI systems-especially LLM-powered web agents and chatbots. In this role, you'll design and implement secure-by-design architectures, audit our LLM-powered web agent (https://brave.com/blog/ai-browsing/) and chatbot, and help set Brave's direction on how we identify, measure, and reduce security risk across AI products.
Brave is a privacy-focused technology company best known for its Brave web browser, which blocks ads and trackers by default and rewards users with its Basic Attention Token (BAT) cryptocurrency. Founded in 2015 by Brendan Eich, the co-creator of JavaScript and former CEO of Mozilla, Brave has grown into a significant player in the browser market, with millions of monthly active users and a strong focus on user privacy and decentralized web technologies. The company operates globally, with its headquarters in San Francisco, California, and a distributed team across multiple countries.
In Spain, Brave has a small but growing presence, with open roles for senior engineers and solutions specialists. The company embraces a remote-first culture, allowing employees to work from anywhere, including Spain. For international professionals, Brave offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge browser technology, contribute to an open-source project, and be part of a mission-driven company that challenges the status quo of online advertising. The Spanish team, while not a large office, is part of a global network that values technical excellence and innovation.
