The role

At Ceit we offer the possibility of completing a Master's Thesis (TFM) within the Additive Manufacturing and Powder Metallurgy group.

If you want to learn from the best researchers in the field of materials and manufacturing, apply for this TFM.

About the project:

The purpose is to work on the microstructural and mechanical characterization of IN718 with a modified composition, establishing the relationship between composition-microstructure-process parameters-post heat treatments.

  • Objectives
    • Demonstrate that the modification made to the alloy results in an improvement in its ductility.
    • Compare the results of both processing techniques.
  • Tasks to be carried out
    • Characterize the possible defects resulting from the manufacturing processes.
    • Conduct mechanical tests to define the mechanical properties achieved.
    • Optimize process parameters to improve the resulting microstructure.
    • Apply post-manufacturing heat treatments.
  • Working material: Modified IN718 powder, already available at Ceit.
  • Period (start and end date, if known) July to December 2026 (750 hours)

How you'll work

  • Schedule: Winter: 7.75 hours per day. July and August: 6 hours per day (continuous).
