Demonstrable experience working with a conventional (manual) lathe.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

Knowledge of cutting tools and machining conditions.

Proficiency in measuring instruments and dimensional control.

Ability to manufacture single parts and short production runs.

Experience machining flanges, rings, shafts, bushings, and other metal components will be valued.

Knowledge of conventional milling machines, radial drills, or other machine tools will be valued.

Are you a person with experience in manual machining and do you enjoy working with precision? We are looking to hire a conventional lathe operator to join our production team, dedicated to manufacturing metal parts for the industrial sector.

This is a stable position within a company specialized in metal transformation, where quality, experience, and good workmanship are fundamental.

What will your duties be?

Machining metal parts primarily using a conventional (manual) lathe.

Preparing the machine and selecting the appropriate cutting tools based on the type of material.

Reading mechanical blueprints and technical specifications.

Performing operations such as cylindrical turning, facing, drilling, boring, internal and external threading, grooving, and taper turning.

Manufacturing single parts and short production runs with a high level of precision.

Checking part dimensions using calipers, micrometers, comparators, gauges, and other measuring instruments.

Adjusting tolerances and ensuring the final quality of the product.

Performing basic maintenance on the lathe and keeping the work area clean and organized.

Collaborating with the rest of the production team in the manufacturing of metal components.

What does a conventional lathe operator do?

A conventional lathe operator is a professional specialized in manufacturing and repairing metal parts using a manual lathe. Unlike CNC machining, it is the operator themselves who adjusts the feeds, speeds, and cutting depths, and manually controls the entire machining process.

It is a trade that requires skill, manual dexterity, knowledge of materials, and the ability to produce parts with the exact measurements indicated on the blueprints. Their work is essential for manufacturing precision components, repairing special parts, and carrying out custom jobs.

Coneixement d´eines de tall i de les condicions de mecanitzat.

Domini dels instruments de mesura i control dimensional.

Precisió, responsabilitat i autonomia en el lloc de treball.

Capacitat per fabricar peces unitàries i petites sèries.

Es valorarà experiència en el mecanitzat de brides, anelles, eixos, casquets i altres components metàl·lics.

Es valoraran coneixements de fresadora convencional, trepant radial o altres màquines eina.

Quines seran les teves funcions?

Mecanitzar peces metàl·liques utilitzant principalment torn convencional (manual).

Preparar la màquina i seleccionar les eines de tall adequades segons el tipus de material.

Interpretar plànols mecànics i especificacions tècniques.

Realitzar operacions de cilindrat, refrentat, foradat, mandrinat, roscat interior i exterior, ranurat i conificat.

Fabricar peces úniques i sèries curtes amb un alt nivell de precisió.

Verificar les dimensions de les peces mitjançant peu de rei, micròmetres, comparadors, galgues i altres instruments de control.

Ajustar toleràncies i assegurar la qualitat del producte final.

Fer el manteniment bàsic del torn i mantenir l´espai de treball net i ordenat.

Col·laborar amb la resta de l´equip de producció en la fabricació de components metàl·lics.

Què fa un torner convencional?

Un torner convencional és un professional especialitzat en fabricar i reparar peces metàl·liques utilitzant un torn manual. A diferència del mecanitzat CNC, és el mateix operari qui ajusta els avanços, les velocitats, les profunditats de tall i controla manualment tot el procés de mecanitzat.

És un ofici que requereix experiència, habilitat manual, coneixement dels materials i capacitat per obtenir peces amb les mesures exactes indicades als plànols. La seva feina és imprescindible per fabricar components de precisió, reparar peces especials i elaborar treballs personalitzats.
