The role
Cádiz, Spain
At Fresenius Medical Care, physiotherapy plays a strategic role within the comprehensive care of patients with chronic kidney disease. In our dialysis centers, you will lead and execute the physical rehabilitation program, safely integrating therapeutic exercise into the hemodialysis process to preserve, restore, and optimize patients' functional capacity, mobility, and autonomy.
Join us as a Physiotherapist in our Dialysis Centers in Cádiz to develop a career with real clinical impact and contribute directly to improving people's quality of life and survival.
What you'll do
As a physiotherapist, you will be responsible for leading, managing, and comprehensively executing the center's physical rehabilitation program, guaranteeing safe, personalized care aligned with Fresenius Medical Care's corporate and clinical standards. You will play a key role in clinical decision-making, monitoring functional outcomes, and coordinating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure a positive and measurable impact on patient evolution.
- Comprehensive functional assessment and diagnosis: you will perform the complete physical assessment of patients during their first month of admission, applying standardized clinical tools to determine their physical capacity, strength, and fall risk.
- Clinical screening and safety criteria: you will verify the suitability of patients for inclusion and continuity in the therapeutic exercise program, identifying absolute contraindications and evaluating their clinical stability daily.
- Individualized therapeutic planning: you will classify patients according to company protocols and design personalized programs, defining the suitability of intradialytic, home-based, or combined routines.
- Direct clinical intervention and patient education: you will execute and supervise physiotherapy programs during the hemodialysis session in patients with moderate or severe functional limitation, as well as postural education and autonomous exercise in patients with preserved function or mild risk, including support for caregivers.
- Follow-up, reassessment, and continuity of care: you will lead periodic functional reassessments, dynamically adjusting exercise plans according to clinical evolution and coordinating with social work and nutrition to address barriers that impact physical recovery.
- Internal and external clinical coordination: you will participate actively in the center's monthly clinical meetings, providing the patient's functional assessment and coordinating, when necessary, the referral to external rehabilitation resources or specialized care.
- Analysis of results and clinical data management: you will monitor functional and operational indicators, ensuring traceability and rigorous recording of all activity in the patient's clinical history.
