Bioenergy and Wastewater Stream Valorization Specialist

Required academic training: Degree or Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biotechnology, Environmental Sciences, or a related technical discipline.

• Process engineering, mass and energy balances, unit operations, and transport phenomena.
• Anaerobic digestion, biogas, biomethane, upgrading, renewable hydrogen or biohydrogen, and resource recovery in WWTPs.
• Urban and industrial wastewater treatment, sludge management, gas lines, odor control, and energy valorization.
• Simulation, modeling, and data analysis using tools such as Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, BioWin, GPS-X, SuperPro Designer, or other equivalents.
• Analytical techniques for water, sludge, and gases to evaluate the performance of bioenergy processes.

Experience: minimum 3 years of research or technical experience in R&D+i projects, pilots, demonstrators, or technological implementations linked to wastewater treatment, anaerobic digestion, biogas, biomethane, hydrogen, bioenergy, or waste valorization. Experience in preparing proposals and participating in national or European funding consortia will be valued.

Languages: English C1, additional languages will be valued.

Other: Driving license B.

• A PhD in areas related to bioenergy, wastewater treatment, process engineering, or biotechnology is desirable.

At Global Omnium, we want to incorporate a technical specialist profile applied to R&D+i in bioenergy in WWTPs, with the capacity to identify, evaluate, design, and scale solutions related to anaerobic digestion, biogas, biomethane, renewable hydrogen, and the valorization of liquid, solid, and gaseous streams.

• Identify innovation opportunities in WWTPs for the energy valorization of liquid, solid, and gaseous streams.
• Analyze, compare, and select bioenergy, biogas, biomethane, renewable hydrogen, and resource recovery technologies applicable to the water cycle.
• Evaluate the technical, economic, environmental, and operational feasibility of new technologies and processes.
• Design processes, unit operations, and experimental setups at laboratory and pilot scales, including balances, flow diagrams, and operating criteria.
• Define, execute, and supervise experimental trials, monitoring process parameters, performance, and stability.
• Coordinate sampling campaigns and analysis of water, sludge, and gases for technology validation.
• Analyze data, draw technical conclusions, and identify improvements for the design, operation, and scaling of innovative solutions.
• Draft reports, technical memories, presentations, and funding proposals associated with R&D+i projects.
• Collaborate with operations teams to evaluate technology implementation and transfer results to demonstration and industrial scales.
• Maintain technical coordination with universities, technology centers, suppliers, funding bodies, and project partners to drive innovation and knowledge transfer.
