Junior R&D Engineer

Education:

- University degree in science or engineering disciplines, or a Higher Vocational Training degree (CFGS) such as:

o Higher Technician in Electromechanics (profiles with experience in machinery maintenance)

o Higher Technician in Industrial Mechatronics

o Higher Technician in Industrial Automation and Robotics

o Higher Technician in Electromechanical Maintenance

- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, research methodologies, and experimental design, as well as the latest scientific advances and technological developments in the sector.

- Technical knowledge:

- Knowledge of industrial design and simulation programs and software.

- Knowledge of technical regulations and certifications in the industrial sector.

- Knowledge of textile production and coating processes.

Experience:

- 1 to 3 years of experience in technical, innovation, or quality teams in similar companies within the coatings sector (polymers, silicones, rubbers, or similar).

Competencies:

- Highly motivated person with own initiative; ability to meet deadlines, both working individually and in a team.

- Great capacity to evaluate problems methodically and offer solid recommendations for their resolution.

- Proactive and action-oriented mindset.

- Ability to participate in technical debates and discussions.

Job mission:

The main mission of the R&D Engineer (Technology Unit) is to lead the integration of new technologies into the company, driving continuous improvement in manufacturing and the optimization of both processes and products (both existing and new). This position is key to ensuring that the company remains at the forefront of innovation and efficiency in the sector, through the creation of new products and production processes that bring value to the company.

The R&D Engineer (Technology Unit) may act as a project manager or perform a co-direction or assistance role alongside a project manager, providing advice and supervision on the technical aspects of the initiative.

Main responsibilities:

Product development:

- Prepare all deliverables corresponding to project planning (APQP).

- Collaborate in the development of new products according to customer technical specifications and market needs, based on the integration of new technologies.

- Perform technical tests and trials for the validation of new products and processes.

- Participate in product and process design:

Design FMEA (DFMEA)

Process FMEA (PFMEA)

Process improvement:

- Evaluate and optimize existing manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

- Implement predictive algorithms in processes for the monitoring of critical variables in products.

Research and Development (R&D):

- Identify, research, and implement new technologies applicable to the production chain to improve manufacturing products and processes.

Project management:

- Co-lead technical projects related to process improvement and product development, ensuring compliance with deadlines, quality, and costs.

- Collaborate closely with other departments of the company to ensure the technical and economic viability of proposals.

- Prepare project documentation.

- Manage process transfer.

Analysis and reporting:

- Analyze the results of tests and evaluations of products and processes, preparing detailed reports for decision-making.

Training and support:

- Train operational personnel in the use of new processes and technologies.

- Provide technical support to production and quality teams in solving technical problems.

- Comply with established requirements regarding order and cleanliness, quality, safety, and environment.
