The role

At INBRAIN, we're developing graphene-based neural technologies that have the potential to transform the treatment of neurological diseases. As we continue scaling our manufacturing capabilities, we're looking for an Equipment & Automation Engineer to help build, maintain, and optimize the production systems that enable our technology to reach patients.

In this role, you'll take ownership of production equipment throughout its entire lifecycle, from specification and installation to qualification, maintenance, optimization, and eventual retirement. You'll work at the intersection of engineering, operations, quality, and facilities, ensuring our manufacturing processes remain reliable, efficient, and compliant.

If you enjoy solving complex technical problems, improving equipment performance, and developing innovative automation solutions in a high-tech manufacturing environment, we'd love to hear from you.
Equipment Reliability & Maintenance
  • Own the reliability and maintenance strategy for assigned production equipment.
  • Lead predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities to maximize uptime and production continuity.
  • Troubleshoot complex equipment issues, perform root cause analyses, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.
Equipment Lifecycle Management
  • Define technical requirements and specifications for new production equipment and critical spare parts.
  • Support supplier evaluation, equipment selection, purchasing decisions, and lifecycle planning.
  • Lead equipment implementation projects from concept through installation, commissioning, qualification, production release, and handover to Operations.
  • Coordinate equipment upgrades, modifications, and end-of-life activities.
Automation & Continuous Improvement
  • Design and implement custom tools, fixtures, and automation solutions to improve safety, throughput, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze equipment performance data and failure trends to prioritize improvement initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects that enhance manufacturing capability and reduce recurring issues.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Operations, Facilities, Quality, Procurement, external suppliers, and service providers.
  • Coordinate facility readiness activities, including utilities, infrastructure, layout, safety, and environmental requirements for new equipment installations.
  • Manage relationships with equipment manufacturers, contractors, and technical service providers to ensure successful project execution and maintenance support.
  • Collaborate with machine shops and external partners to develop custom components, tooling, and technical solutions.
Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain equipment lifecycle documentation, including maintenance plans, calibration requirements, risk assessments, technical drawings, qualifications, validations, and change-control records.
  • Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with ISO 13485 and internal quality procedures.
  • Technical Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience working with production equipment in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing environments.
  • Hands-on experience with equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
Nice to Have
  • Experience in microfabrication, semiconductor processing, cleanroom manufacturing, or highly regulated industries.
  • Experience designing custom tooling, fixtures, automation systems, or equipment modifications.
  • Familiarity with qualification, validation, and change-control processes within regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485 or other quality management systems.

We believe that diverse perspectives drive innovation and lead to better outcomes for our team, our technology, and the patients we serve. We are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone is valued, respected, and empowered to succeed.
