Requirements

What we're looking for

Degree or Master's in banking and finance, accounting, business administration and management, or a related field.
At least 1 year of experience in internal audit, external audit (Big Four or in a financial services organization, with specialization in banking or consumer finance).
Good knowledge of local banking regulations, especially in consumer finance, transparency, anti-money laundering (AML), and insurance.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with SAP and with data analysis and business intelligence tools will be positively valued.
Willingness to obtain Internal Audit certifications, such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor).
Excellent command of spoken and written English (C1 level).
Solid research, analysis, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to maintain a big picture view (big picture).
Ability to use time efficiently, maintain productivity working both on-site and remotely, and focus on critical tasks.
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management (stakeholders) skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior executives and governance bodies.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a highly dynamic environment.
Teamwork attitude.

The role

At Marlex People, we are looking for you! We are collaborating with an important company that needs to hire a Senior Internal Auditor profile in Alcobendas (Madrid). If you are looking for professional development and a new challenge, this is your opportunity!

As a Senior Internal Auditor, you will work for a leading bank specialized in the automotive sector, reporting to the Iberia Audit Manager.

You will act as the point of reference for Internal Audit in Spain, directing large-scale audits, driving process improvements, and gaining a broad view of different projects, initiatives, and high-risk areas.

What you'll do

Support the Audit Manager in the preparation of the annual audit plan based on risk assessment.
Perform the audits scheduled in the audit plan, including mandatory audits related to compliance with local regulations, and ensure that audit work is documented according to the Internal Audit Group standards.
Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the internal control system, identifying and providing an interpretation of weaknesses in those areas that do not comply with regulations, procedures, and standards, and ensuring the timely escalation of critical risks.
Prepare audit reports, ensuring that findings are well documented and that recommendations and corrective actions help to mitigate risks effectively.
Perform follow-up on audit recommendations and the implementation of management action plans and, when necessary, perform additional testing.
Evaluate and improve the adequacy and effectiveness of the Internal Control System, identifying significant weaknesses.
Review and supervise the completion of audit work performed by junior auditors, providing training and guidance during the audit.
Participate in special projects, when necessary.
Update the risk-based annual audit plan.
Participate in the presentation of audit findings and recommendations to senior management and governance committees.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit methodologies, tools, and processes, including the adoption of business intelligence solutions (Business Intelligence).
Support the Iberia Audit Manager in the preparation of reports and updates for governance bodies at the regional and Group levels.
