MISSION: Responsible for growing the client base of the assigned segment or segments and a defined set of accounts for the hotels in the area. Attract, develop, and retain B2B accounts and carry out the actions defined in the sales action plan to achieve quantitative and qualitative objectives in the hotel Business Plans.

What you'll do

  • Assist the DOS and/or AsDOS in preparing budgets for the assigned segment and/or markets and sectors, and in preparing the hotel Business Plans.
  • Monitor and report on the achievement of objectives with the accounts/areas/segments under their direct responsibility, coordinating this monitoring with the respective Sales Managers.
  • Implement the actions defined in the sales action plan to achieve quantitative and qualitative objectives for the segment, geographical area, or sectors assigned to their portfolio.
  • Coordinate and ensure the hotel's inclusion in action plans for different segments by Sales Office Account Managers or Sales Development teams, depending on the hotel's needs.
  • Prepare reports required by the DOS and/or AsDOS for the Business Review.
  • Support the DOS/AsDOS with weekly projections for the portfolio of accounts and broader segment under their responsibility, in conjunction with the Sales Managers.
  • Attract, develop, and manage local/domestic accounts not assigned to Sales Office Account Managers. Promote the hotels to local accounts using MHI global programs and tools such as MeliáPro Rewards, TravelLabs, etc.
  • Close commercial agreements (dynamic, negotiated fixed, etc.) with target companies and negotiate with newly acquired travel agency groups, including drafting, signing, and uploading them to the relevant internal platform.
  • Based on the assigned segment(s), prepare and complete BT RFPs, incoming agency contracts, MICE agreements, etc., and negotiate directly with the account. Prepare the Business Case required to attract new accounts.
  • Achieve New Business objectives based on segment(s)/account production.
  • Act as Account Manager for small and medium-sized accounts.
  • Serve as the point of contact for any issues with their accounts and be responsible for their resolution.
  • Recognize complete information about GDS production channels to assist and inform our clients accordingly.
  • Knowledge of the competition in the area, their products, prices, strengths, and weaknesses, incorporating this into their sales pitch.
  • Coordinate with the Group Sales team in the area and the Hotel Conference teams regarding any meeting or group requests that their accounts/markets may have for the hotels in the area, providing personal support to close the deal with the client.
  • Coordinate with the Group Desk and, through the Cross-Selling program, any meeting or group request that their accounts or sales calls may generate for other MHI hotels (other commercial areas/regions).
  • Attend events and sales actions organized by third parties or by MHI, promoting the hotels in the area.
  • Participate in the execution of the hotel's Pre-Opening Action Plan.
  • Ensure the visibility of specific campaigns with accounts/segments under their responsibility and their correct distribution.
  • Maintain constant communication with MHI Sales Offices and Sales Development teams to align efforts and actions when approaching the market to capture new accounts or business opportunities.
  • Detect and communicate to Sales Development any opportunity for other hotels/countries within MHI, ensuring the addressed account receives global support and agreements based on MHI's potential.
  • Communicate any signed agreement and coordinate with the involved departments.
  • Promote and develop virtual sales activities so that the hotels in the area reach a larger number of clients in a more efficient and dynamic way within the MeliáPro TravelLabs environment.
  • Report all activities in the MHI CRM to keep the database updated for all accounts, actions, and activities.
  • Coordinate and host familiarization trips (fam trips) at hotels in the area.
  • Plan and implement on-site inspections of all types and for all hotel segments.
  • Attend hotel site inspections as directed by the DOS/AsDOS.
  • Inform the Area Director of Sales of any inspection they should also attend and evaluate the suitability of the DOS's attendance.
  • To know the Brand philosophy and comply with the standards, operational manuals, and identity guidelines applicable to the department.
  • To look after the guest experience and personalize their stay, anticipating their needs and exceeding their expectations.
  • To handle guest incidents, communicating the actions taken to the person in charge. To escalate the incident to the person in charge if a solution cannot be provided.
  • To know the Guest Voice objectives and carry out the necessary actions to achieve them.
  • To support the person in charge with the Sensorial Architecture established for their areas.
  • To know and promote the hotel's services and facilities, as well as the entertainment program, experiences, and events.
  • Know the hotel's evacuation plan.
  • Know and correctly use personal protective equipment.
  • Know the work methods, procedures, and risks inherent to their activity.
  • Assume the responsibilities assigned to you in the Occupational Health and Safety Management System Manual.
  • Give visibility to sustainable attributes in the client relationship (under the instructions of the marketing & brands department).
  • Ensure sustainability communication meets criteria of truthfulness, rigor, and coherence.

What we're looking for

  • Basic knowledge of PMS (Opera Cloud, Sihot) and CRM Focus.
  • User-level knowledge of Microsoft Office package.
  • Ability to work in a team, organization, planning, results orientation.
  • 2 years of experience in a similar position.

Education & certifications

University education in Tourism, B.A.

Languages

Local language (depending on the hotel's location) and Advanced English. A third language is valued.
