Mission

As a Propulsion Design Engineer (Feed) at PLD Space, your mission is to design and develop cutting-edge systems for our launch vehicles and spacecraft. Your role is essential to ensuring the performance, reliability, and efficiency of the feed system, contributing to the success of our space missions.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design of the system and architecture of the liquid rocket propulsion subsystem. Tasks include conceptual design, detailed design, and creation of 2D drawings, as well as design support for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Design the main components of the feed system.
  • Design support structures and additional subsystem elements.
  • Conduct trade studies and evaluations of propulsion system configurations and technologies to support decision-making processes.
  • Coordinate with other engineering departments (Structures, Materials & Processes, Quality, etc.).
  • Optimize design solutions and complete assigned tasks "on time, with quality, and within budget" through continuous improvement processes.
  • Define materials and select standard components according to program requirements.
  • Create Bill of Materials (BOM) for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors for the procurement of propulsion system components, ensuring compliance with quality standards and technical specifications.
  • Support manufacturing and assembly processes, providing technical guidance and resolving any design-related issues that arise during production.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of propulsion system design methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Generate documentation, including user guides, guidelines, and manuals for internal and customer use.
  • Generate documentation for formal program development reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • More than 3 years of relevant technical experience.
  • Experience in the design and routing of fluid systems.
  • Experience in the application of DFM (Design for Manufacturing).
  • High proficiency in CAD and PDM tools.
