What you'll do

What will your mission be?

You will provide comprehensive patient care before, during, and after the surgical procedure, promoting health education, in coordination with the rest of the team members, applying the knowledge specific to your role and following the guidelines established by the center based on the area's care protocols, contributing to offering excellent quality service.

What will be your functions and responsibilities?

You will be responsible for anticipating all surgical needs, verifying the availability of specific instruments, as well as prostheses to be implanted if required.

You will prepare the expired gas filter, connect it to the capnograph within its packaging, the anesthesia suction device with its tubing and probe, and check their proper functioning.

You will check the proper condition of the defibrillators, if applicable, and in case of failure, notify the supervisor and replace any non-operational device during the shift.

You will prepare the necessary material for each surgical procedure, as well as assist the medical team during interventions according to the protocols established for each surgical specialty.

You will collect the instruments and materials at the end of the intervention.

You will report any incident during the intervention to the unit supervisor.

You will perform the count of any material introduced into the patient.

If there is a bone bank or grafts, you will verify the need and ensure optimal conditions for their use, as well as their prior treatment for proper handling, custody, and recording of biological samples, reporting the time of extraction and the method of preservation.

You will perform proper hand hygiene.
