. Outpatient Activity and External Consultations

It is the core of daily practice, focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term follow-up of chronic and acute conditions:

Management of thyroid pathology: Diagnosis and follow-up of hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, and nodular goiter, including the performance or interpretation of thyroid ultrasounds and punctures (FNA).

Advanced management of Diabetes Mellitus: Management of Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes. Implementation and follow-up of new technologies (continuous glucose monitoring systems and insulin pumps).

Metabolic and lipid disorders: Treatment of complex dyslipidemias, metabolic syndrome, and endocrine-related hypertension.

Pituitary and adrenal axis disorders: Diagnosis and management of pituitary adenomas, hypercortisolism, adrenal insufficiency, among others.

Gynecological and reproductive endocrinology: Management of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), hyperprolactinemia, and endocrine-related infertility.

1. Clinical Nutrition and Obesity Area

The hospital group places great emphasis on the comprehensive approach to weight and nutrition:

Treatment of Morbid Obesity: Coordination with the Bariatric and Digestive Surgery team for preoperative evaluation and long-term postoperative nutritional and metabolic follow-up.

Artificial Nutritional Support: Prescription and follow-up of enteral and parenteral nutrition for oncology, critically ill, or dysphagic patients, both in hospital and home settings.

1. Hospital Consultations (Day Hospital and Inpatient Units)

As centers with high surgical and internal medicine activity, the endocrinologist acts as a key consultant:

Glycemic control of hospitalized patients: Optimization of glucose levels in pre- and post-surgical patients to reduce complications and hospital stay duration.

Management of endocrine emergencies: Stabilization of acute decompensations (diabetic ketoacidosis, thyrotoxic crisis, or acute adrenal insufficiency).

1. Multidisciplinary Units and Clinical Committees

Working in synergy with other specialists at the center to provide personalized medicine:

Thyroid Tumor/Nodule Committee: Joint sessions with general or maxillofacial surgeons, pathologists, and radiologists to decide the approach to thyroid pathology.

Cardiovascular Risk Unit: Collaboration with Cardiology and Internal Medicine for strict control of high-risk patients.

1. Care Management and Quality

Optimized use of the group's shared medical records, allowing for total coordination if the patient is referred from or to another center in the network.

Required Qualifications: Degree in Medicine, with specialization in Endocrinology and Nutrition via the MIR system.

Flexibility in Credential Recognition: We will also highly value candidates whose specialty is in the process of being recognized in Spain (with official documentation submitted and at an advanced stage), facilitating your entry into the national job market.

Clinical Skills: Ability and proficiency in the comprehensive management of endocrine-metabolic pathology in both outpatient and inpatient settings (diabetes, thyroid, obesity, etc.).

Team Spirit: We are looking for a professional with strong communication skills, empathy with patients, and, above all, a collaborative approach to working with other specialists at the center.

Licensing: Must be licensed (or eligible for licensing) with the Official College of Physicians of Barcelona (COMB).
