Software Engineers for Electronic Equipment

• Degree or Master/Higher Engineering/Licentiate, Electronics Specialty.

• Demonstrable experience, of at least 5 years, in a similar position.

• Programming skills in C or C++.

• Advanced level of English.

Knowledge in the following will be valued:

• Sensors and motors

• Serial communication buses: RS-232/485/422, USB, SPI, I2C, Modbus, CAN bus, or similar

• Process automation

• Unit testing, integration, and continuous development

• Code version control and bug tracking tools

• Use and handling of laboratory measurement instruments

• General knowledge of digital and analog electronics

• Knowledge of standards (ECSS, MISRA, IPC, MIL, ...)

Other tools will be valued, such as:

• IDEs for Microchip microcontrollers: MPLABX and Microchip Studio.

At Sener Aeroespacial y Defensa we want to incorporate Senior Software Engineers for electronic equipment into our team.

You will join the control electronics development group for actuators for Space and Defense to lead new product projects in the pointing mechanisms and actuation and control systems lines.

Sener Aeroespacial y Defensa has been dedicated for more than 50 years to developing aerospace systems for the space, defense, science, and diagnostics markets.

The Electronic Equipment Systems and Mechanisms division, based in Bilbao, Barcelona, and Madrid, has been a leading provider of electromechanical systems for the world's main space agencies (NASA, ESA, JAXA, and Roscosmos) since 1995.

You will be part of the multidisciplinary team (hardware, software, firmware, and mechanics) that develops the equipment used to test the control electronics and mechanisms of antenna pointing systems, couplings, and robotic anchors, as well as telescope focusing and scanning systems, among others.

Among the functions you will perform, the following stand out:

• Learn about the types of test equipment we develop and their applications.

• Develop new embedded software.

• Design new software features based on system requirements.

• Maintain existing software, adding new functionalities and fixing bugs.

• Develop and manage source code under Git version control.

• Communicate and coordinate with team members who are developing the firmware, electronics, or mechanics.

• Launch and validate the application software of test equipment for certification or production campaigns.

• Define software validation procedures.
