What we're looking for
Python (Scripting & Processing): Ability to create scripts from scratch for data processing and ingestion. Solid experience in file processing (e.g., CSVs) managing memory limitations, use of data structures (lists vs. dictionaries), and robust error management in ingestions through pure code.
Advanced SQL: Wide mastery of complex statements, relationship typologies, joins, aggregation functions, and complex filters (WHERE vs. HAVING). Ability to detect duplicates, handle orphan records, and mastery of Window Functions for calculations over datasets.
PostgreSQL (Performance and Tuning): Real experience working with large volumes of tables. Creation, management, and optimization of indices. Deep knowledge of execution plans (use of the EXPLAIN command) and ability to identify when an index is counterproductive.
ETL / ELT Development (Pure code): Solid foundation in the design of custom-programmed data flows. Conceptual and practical mastery of incremental loads versus full loads, management of failures midway through an ingestion (e.g., what to do if it fails at 80%), and application of data quality controls through code.
The role
About the role: We are looking for a highly technical profile, a "hands-on" developer for a data environment strongly oriented towards open source. It is essential that you are used to writing code from scratch. In this project, visual or "drag & drop" ETL tools are not used; the work is pure code ("black screen"), building and orchestrating data solutions directly through Python scripts and complex SQL statements. The client uses StarRocks as a high-performance analytical engine, so we are looking for someone with a relational and Data Warehousing foundation so solid that they can quickly adapt to this technology.

Modality: 100% Remote
Schedule: High schedule flexibility (finish approx. at 17:00h) and intensive working day on Fridays.
