Requirements

What we're looking for

  • 4+ years of experience as a backend developer

  • Solid knowledge in:

    • Scala (collections, Futures, immutability, pattern matching)

    • SQL optimization (indexes, queries, performance tuning)

  • Experience with:

    • AWS Services

    • CI/CD

    • Version control with Git

Nice to have

  • Experience with:

    • Squeryl / Doobie

    • Grafana / Kibana (monitoring and alerts)

  • Experience in:

    • High-load distributed systems

    • Horizontal scaling

    • Architectures with Play/Pekko

Languages

  • English: essential

  • Russian and/or Ukrainian: valuable

What you'll get

The role

You will participate in the evolution and localization of the Sage HCM platform for the United Kingdom, within an international and highly technological environment.

The project includes:

  • Deployment automation

  • Billing and provisioning automation

  • Development of new features on an existing product

  • Incident resolution and service evolution

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team (backend, frontend, QA, architecture, PM), working on scalable and distributed systems.

What you'll do

  • Backend development in Scala within the delivery team

  • Implementation of new features and product evolution

  • Performance optimization (SQL queries, indexes, profiling)

  • Participation in distributed systems architecture

  • Integration with cloud services (AWS)

  • Work following development best practices (CI/CD, PRs, testing)

  • Collaboration with QA, architecture, and product teams
