About the role

The Universidad Europea de Madrid is looking to recruit a Research Support Officer for the SIC-UEM Group to take part in research and development activities within the framework of a funded research project. The position is focused on developing solutions based on artificial intelligence and intelligent transport systems, as well as the processing, analysis and exploitation of data from heterogeneous sources.

What you'll do

The selected candidate will collaborate on the following activities:

  • Development of algorithms for control centres capable of processing contextual information and anticipating potential situations of departure from the operational design domain (ODD), minimising the need for human intervention.
  • Extraction, transformation and loading of data (ETL) from heterogeneous sources.
  • Design, implementation and maintenance of databases.
  • Application of artificial intelligence techniques to the development of intelligent transport systems.
  • Analysis and application of data mining and machine learning techniques.
  • Image processing.
  • Development, maintenance and improvement of the software associated with the project activities.

What we're looking for

  • Degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Advanced programming skills in C++ and Python.
  • Knowledge of image processing libraries, including OpenCV.
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • English level B2 or above.

Nice to have

  • Experience in programming, research or technological development projects.
  • Proficiency in data mining and ETL tools such as RapidMiner, Orange or Pentaho Data Integration.
