Network Engineer / Fortinet

We are looking to hire a Network Engineer with a solid technical foundation and a clear focus on network architecture to participate in projects involving the design, evolution, and modernization of enterprise network infrastructures based on Fortinet technology. The role is aimed at technical profiles with real experience in Fortinet environments and the ambition to grow into high-level architecture functions, working closely with senior architects. The position is based in Madrid under a hybrid work model, with some days worked from home and others at the office, where you can create valuable synergies with the rest of your team.

• Technical analysis of corporate and data center network infrastructures based on Fortinet solutions, assessing impact, risks, and dependencies in scenarios of evolution or change.
• Creation and maintenance of structured technical documentation: design descriptions, operational procedures, technical validations, architecture diagrams, and change documentation.
• Technical support to senior architects in defining network and security architectures, participating in the preparation of High-Level Designs (HLD) and Low-Level Designs (LLD).
• Occasional participation in hands-on technical activities during testing phases, validations, Proofs of Concept (PoCs), or implementation support.

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in enterprise network environments.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Routing and Switching: VLANs, STP, dynamic routing (OSPF, BGP), network segmentation, and high availability.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Data Center or complex corporate network environments.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience creating structured technical documentation: procedures, configurations, incident reports, or infrastructure changes.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience working with Fortinet technologies.
• Technical experience with the Fortinet ecosystem, explicitly including:
  • FortiGate (firewalling, routing, SD-WAN, high availability)
  • FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer
  • FortiSwitch and FortiAP
  • Security policies, segmentation, VPNs, and traffic control
• Experience in SD-WAN projects based on Fortinet.
• Technical or conceptual knowledge of SASE architectures supported by Fortinet solutions.
• Understanding of hybrid architectures and the evolution towards Zero Trust models.
• Accredited B2 level of English.

• Fortinet certifications (NSE 4, NSE 5, NSE 6, NSE 7, or current equivalents).
• Experience collaborating within network or security architecture teams.
• Previous experience in technology consulting environments.
• Participation in large-scale network security transformation projects.

• University degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical qualifications. Equivalent professional experience of at least 6 additional years in enterprise networks will be accepted in lieu of a degree.

It is essential to reside in Spain and have a valid work permit for Spain. Responsibilities

• Residence in Spain and a valid work permit.

• Active participation in enterprise network and security architecture projects, with a primary focus on the Fortinet ecosystem.
• Contribution to the design and evolution of SD-WAN and Secure SD-WAN architectures based on FortiGate.
• Support for transitioning traditional architectures towards SASE and Zero Trust models supported by Fortinet technologies.
• Execution and documentation of Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and technical validations on Fortinet solutions, ensuring alignment with business and architecture requirements.

• Análisis técnico de infraestructuras de red corporativas y de data center basadas en soluciones Fortinet, evaluando impacto, riesgos y dependencias en escenarios de evolución o cambio.
• Elaboración y mantenimiento de documentación técnica estructurada: descripciones de diseño, procedimientos operativos, validaciones técnicas, diagramas de arquitectura y documentación de cambios.
• Soporte técnico a arquitectos senior en la definición de arquitecturas de red y seguridad, participando en la preparación de High Level Design (HLD) y Low Level Design (LLD).
• Participación puntual en actividades técnicas hands-on durante fases de prueba, validación, PoCs o soporte a la implementación.

• Mínimo 5 años de experiencia profesional en entornos de redes empresariales.
• Mínimo 5 años de experiencia en Routing y Switching: VLANs, STP, routing dinámico (OSPF, BGP), segmentación de red y alta disponibilidad.
• Mínimo 3 años de experiencia en entornos de Data Center o redes corporativas complejas.
• Mínimo 3 años de experiencia elaborando documentación técnica estructurada: procedimientos, configuraciones, incidencias o cambios de infraestructura.
• Mínimo 3 años de experiencia práctica trabajando con tecnologías Fortinet.
• Experiencia técnica con el ecosistema Fortinet, incluyendo de forma explícita:
  • FortiGate (firewalling, routing, SD-WAN, alta disponibilidad)
  • FortiManager y FortiAnalyzer
  • FortiSwitch y FortiAP
  • Políticas de seguridad, segmentación, VPNs y control de tráfico
• Experiencia en proyectos de SD-WAN basados en Fortinet.
• Conocimiento técnico o conceptual de arquitecturas SASE soportadas por soluciones Fortinet.
• Entendimiento de arquitecturas híbridas y evolución hacia modelos Zero Trust.
• Nivel de inglés B2 acreditado.

• Certificaciones Fortinet (NSE 4, NSE 5, NSE 6, NSE 7 o equivalentes actuales).
• Experiencia colaborando en equipos de arquitectura de red o seguridad.
• Experiencia previa en entornos de consultoría tecnológica.
• Participación en proyectos de transformación de seguridad de red a gran escala.

• Titulación universitaria en Ingeniería de Telecomunicaciones, Ingeniería Informática o titulaciones técnicas equivalentes. Se aceptará experiencia profesional equivalente de mínimo 6 años adicionales en redes empresariales en sustitución de titulación.
