JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking to bring on a technical professional with experience in IBM System i (AS/400) who wants to grow as a reference in business-critical legacy environments. The selected candidate will actively and independently participate in the operation and evolution of the platform, collaborating with different teams to provide technical solutions and contribute to continuous service improvement. The role combines operations, support, and technological evolution in a stable, high-impact environment.

• Administration and operation of IBM System i (AS/400) environments, ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of the platform.

• Technical support and maintenance of applications developed in COBOL 400, including incident analysis and troubleshooting.

• System monitoring, batch process control, and management of operational tasks associated with the infrastructure.

• Participation in continuous improvement initiatives, service optimization, and standardization of operational procedures.

• Managing the AS/400 infrastructure in line with service level agreements (SLAs) and agreed experience levels.

• Ensuring the reliability and security of systems by applying good operational and control practices.

• Collaborating with development, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure correct end-to-end operations.

• Participating in service governance tasks, technical documentation, and execution of evolutionary improvements.

• Supporting basic automation activities and technical analysis focused on operational efficiency.

• Advanced knowledge of IBM System i (AS/400).

• Advanced experience in programming and supporting COBOL 400 applications.

• At least 1 year of experience in AS/400 environments, legacy systems, or similar platforms.

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical studies.

• Intermediate technical troubleshooting skills.

• Analytical skills for diagnosing incidents and improving processes.

• Basic knowledge of scripting or automation.

• Good communication skills for teamwork and collaborative environments.

• Interest in continuous improvement and optimization of operational processes.

WORK MODE AND LOCATION
The position is based in Madrid under a hybrid work model, with some days worked from home and others at the office, where you can create valuable synergies with the rest of your team.
It is essential to reside in Spain and hold a work permit for Spain.

DESCRIPCIÓN DEL PUESTO
Buscamos incorporar un perfil técnico con experiencia en IBM System I (AS/400) que quiera desarrollarse como referente en entornos legacy críticos para el negocio. La persona seleccionada participará de forma activa e independiente en la operación y evolución de la plataforma, colaborando con distintos equipos para aportar soluciones técnicas eficientes y contribuir a la mejora continua del servicio. El rol combina operación, soporte y evolución tecnológica en un entorno estable y de alto impacto.

• Administración y operación de entornos IBM System I (AS/400), garantizando la estabilidad, disponibilidad y rendimiento de la plataforma.

• Soporte técnico y mantenimiento de aplicaciones desarrolladas en COBOL 400, incluyendo análisis de incidencias y resolución de problemas.

• Monitorización de sistemas, control de procesos batch y gestión de tareas operativas asociadas a la infraestructura.

• Participación en iniciativas de mejora continua, optimización del servicio y estandarización de procedimientos operativos.

• Gestionar la infraestructura AS/400 alineada con los acuerdos de nivel de servicio (SLAs) y niveles de experiencia acordados.

• Asegurar la fiabilidad y seguridad de los sistemas, aplicando buenas prácticas de operación y control.

• Colaborar con equipos de desarrollo, infraestructura y negocio para garantizar una correcta operación extremo a extremo.

• Participar en tareas de gobierno del servicio, documentación técnica y ejecución de mejoras evolutivas.

• Apoyar en actividades de automatización básica y análisis técnico orientado a la eficiencia operativa.

• Conocimientos avanzados en IBM System I (AS/400).

• Experiencia avanzada en programación y soporte de aplicaciones COBOL 400.

• Al menos 1 año de experiencia en entornos AS/400, sistemas legacy o plataformas similares.

• Titulación universitaria en Informática, Ingeniería o estudios técnicos relacionados.

• Capacidad intermedia de resolución de problemas técnicos.

• Habilidad analítica para diagnóstico de incidencias y mejora de procesos.

• Conocimientos básicos de scripting o automatización.

• Buenas habilidades de comunicación para trabajo en equipo y entornos colaborativos.

• Interés por la mejora continua y optimización de procesos operativos.
