Requirements

About you
  • Clear thinking. You break unfamiliar problems into clear questions, challenge assumptions and use evidence to reach a sound decision. You recognise which details matter and turn your reasoning into a practical course of action.
  • Drive and ownership. You set yourself demanding goals, take initiative and follow through when the work becomes difficult. You take responsibility for the result and find ways to keep moving.
  • Curiosity and learning. You get up to speed quickly in unfamiliar areas and actively experiment with AI and new tools. You use feedback and evidence to improve how you work.
  • Teamwork. You help colleagues succeed, challenge ideas constructively and welcome the same in return. You are reliable about commitments and open about problems.
  • Relevant experience. You bring around 1–2 years in strategy consulting, ideally at McKinsey, BCG or Bain, or in a startup or scale-up. Experience in both environments, including through internships, is a plus.
  • Clear communication. You communicate fluently in English and explain complex ideas clearly to colleagues and partners.

Pay & benefits

Compensation. A highly competitive all-in salary package, with no performance-based bonuses.
Location. We work in person at our Barcelona office, with occasional travel to our marketplaces depending on your role and scope.
Development. A personal development budget and hands-on experience across different marketplaces and areas of the business.
Environment. An international team with high standards, substantial autonomy and real responsibility for what we deliver.

Our application process
We look for evidence of clear thinking, initiative and follow-through. Our case studies reflect the practical decisions and commercial challenges you would work on here. We'll explore how you approach unfamiliar problems, make decisions and turn them into action.
1. Apply. Send us a one-page CV and a one-page cover letter. Tell us why you want to join Seventh Wave and what you would bring to the team.
2. Application review. Our hiring committee reviews every application personally and will be in touch within two weeks.
3. Shortlist and next steps. If we shortlist your application, we'll share the interview format, who you'll meet and any preparation required.
4. Interview day in Barcelona. Spend a day with us in person, working through practical cases and discussing your experience, ambitions and how we would work together. You'll have time with your prospective manager and colleagues to ask questions and decide whether Seventh Wave is right for you. We aim to make and communicate our hiring decision that day.

The role

Seventh Wave is part of Adevinta, one of the world's leading online classifieds groups. We're a small, exceptionally talented team at the frontier of AI deployment, pushing the boundaries of how classifieds businesses operate at scale. We build, shape, and run these businesses end-to-end, driven by an owner-founder mindset from day one. Joining us now means joining early and having a direct hand in shaping our growth journey.
Across Adevinta, our marketplaces reach more than 100 million users every month. Backed by an investor consortium including Blackstone, Permira and General Atlantic, the group brings together leading marketplaces such as mobile.de and Kleinanzeigen in Germany, leboncoin in France, Marktplaats in the Netherlands, Subito in Italy and Kijiji in Canada.

Why join us
We are building a small team of exceptional people early in their careers who want to build, take responsibility and grow with the business.
Own commercial initiatives from the start. Take responsibility for a commercial initiative, from defining the approach to putting it into practice. You'll make decisions with local teams, lead implementation and be accountable for the results.
Learn directly from experienced business leaders. Work directly with marketplace executives and experienced operators as you help shape decisions and carry them through. Their guidance and regular feedback will help you develop the judgement and practical skills to run a business.
Grow towards business leadership. We want to develop future leaders for our marketplaces. Strong performance can lead to rapid progression, with opportunities to run a larger commercial area, lead a team or take on a leadership role within a marketplace.
Put AI to work at marketplace scale. Use AI to create new customer experiences, improve growth campaigns and redesign commercial workflows. You'll have room to test ideas in live marketplaces, measure their impact and scale what works.
Build repeatable capabilities. Turn what works in our starting markets into playbooks and shared capabilities that other marketplaces can use. You'll work with teams across countries to adapt and implement them, extending the impact of your work across the group.
Help build Seventh Wave from the start. Help shape the team and ways of working as we build Seventh Wave from the ground up. You'll have the autonomy to put your ideas into practice, with the backing of an established group.
