Requirements

What we're looking for

  • Strong experience and knowledge as a specialist in Financial Lines technical claims topics

  • Advanced knowledge of legal / regulatory and litigation / procedural requirements for Financial Lines.

  • Experienced in stakeholder management, both internal (underwriting, distribution, actuarial, finance and executive management) and external (brokers, major account clients)

  • Experience in negotiation, mediation, arbitration and ADR skills on higher value complex claims.

  • Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation.

  • A track record of followingup effectively on recommendations from technical claims audits and continuous file handling improvement.

  • The ability to influence claims and non-claims stakeholders to effectively direct claims strategy.

  • The ability to assist with technical training to the team's claim handlers as required.

  • Attention to detail

  • Good time management and prioritization skills.

What you'll do

  • Focused on Financial Lines business, you will be responsible fora portfolio of high value, complex claims from coverage inquiry through legal liability assessment and quantum analysis, to timely and accurate resolution.

  • Your goal will be timely, accurate and customer-focused claim resolution, minimizing indemnity exposure and mitigating vendor and legal expense- you will actively promote and demonstrate the principles of 'Treating Customers Fairly' in claims handling.

  • You will communicate regularly with internal and external stakeholders in your role as our Financial Lines technical claims expert and thought leader.

  • As a senior member of the team, you will act as a deputy for the Team Manager, and will provide training, and be a technical referral pointfor colleagues.

  • You will also contribute to continuous improvement in Claims by supporting Quality Assurance / Regional Audit processes, ensuring mitigation of indemnity and expense exposure while communicating developments and outcomes as necessary to all key internal and external stakeholders.
