Airgrup, S.L. was founded in Seville in 1990, concentrating on welded pipes and ducts. Its roots trace back to 1942 with Consur, S.A., a gear manufacturer for the automotive industry, which later expanded into defense (1970) and aerospace (1980) work. In 2005, Airgrup took on design responsibility and risk-sharing for the A400M, and in 2009 moved to new facilities in Aerópolis, which have since grown to 25,000 m².
