The role
Without Amazon's Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team, our operations would come to a standstill. As a Reliability Maintenance Engineering Planner, in this vital part of our European network, you will be a key figure in all conversations surrounding the technology used in our warehouses and logistics facilities. You must identify problems before they arise and track the materials needed to perform different tasks so that activity can proceed normally. As an expert in our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), you will work effectively and flexibly in a warehouse environment characterized by its dynamism.
Key job responsibilities
- Define the allocation of maintenance and repair resources through our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software.
- Understand and apply EU regulations across all systems within your scope of action.
- Constantly review and analyze location equipment to ensure that stock levels remain sufficient.
- Monitor the maintenance system to confirm that equipment levels are recorded correctly and that forecasts are accurate.
A day in the life
Your primary goal as a Reliability Maintenance Engineering Planner will be to ensure that operations run smoothly. You will work in one of our logistics centers, where you will be responsible for asset management and preventive maintenance planning. You will focus fully on logistical performance, setting high expectations and striving to optimize the equipment available to us.
You will make decisions on where to apply maintenance resources, whether it be individual machinery parts or complete systems, working side-by-side with the local engineering team. You will also collaborate with other members of our European network to continue seeking innovative ways to further increase efficiency.
How you'll work
All our work revolves around reducing downtime at Amazon's crucial operational sites so customers receive their orders on time. We often work in the early morning or late at night to carry out maintenance tasks with minimal disruption, which is why we work night shifts. If we discover there is a better way of doing something, we have the capability and the opportunity to develop and introduce entirely new processes or cutting-edge technology, such as Amazon Robotics and our complex-item sorter.
