About the role

We are looking for a Packaging Manager for the Operations Area of the Cantabria Labs group.

What you'll do

The Packaging Manager is responsible for leading, defining, and managing the development, optimization, and standardization of packaging (primary, secondary, and tertiary) for Cantabria Labs products (dermocosmetics, pharmacy, and supplements). Ensuring maximum quality, sustainability, efficiency on filling lines, and strict regulatory compliance in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Define, draft, and validate the technical specifications of all packaging materials (bottles, cartons, leaflets, labels, caps, etc.).
  • Lead the packaging innovation and ecodesign strategy: reducing carbon footprint, reducing plastics, using recyclable and biodegradable materials in line with Cantabria Labs' "Celebrate Life" philosophy.
  • Coordinate industrial trials (trial runs) of new packaging materials on production lines to ensure their machinability and industrial efficiency.
  • Audit, source, and develop new packaging suppliers, leading technical qualification in collaboration with Procurement and Quality.
  • Manage technical incidents related to materials, implementing CAPA actions and managing supplier claims.
  • Value analysis and cost reduction projects.
  • Research technological developments in the packaging market.
  • Work closely with R&D, Marketing, Procurement, and Regulatory Affairs on New Product Development (NPD) projects, ensuring time-to-market.

What we're looking for

Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Chemical, Materials) or Health Sciences/Sciences (Chemistry, Pharmacy).

Highly valued: Master's degree or postgraduate qualification specifically in Packaging Technology.

Solid knowledge of GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) applicable to Pharma and Cosmetics.

Knowledge of Sustainability, Ecodesign, and ISO 9001/ISO 14001.

Minimum 5 to 7 years of direct experience in packaging development, engineering, or management.

Mandatory experience in the Dermocosmetics or Pharmaceutical sector, or alternatively in Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG).

Experience managing a portfolio of suppliers on a global level.

ERP (SAP or similar): Intermediate/Advanced level (MM/PP modules).

Microsoft Office 365 suite: Advanced level.

Design/drafting software (Autocad, SolidWorks, etc.): Knowledge valued for interpreting technical drawings of packaging.

Proficiency in Lean tools.

Expert in packaging materials: plastics, glass, aluminum, corrugated cardboard, and cartons.

Advanced knowledge of filling and packaging machinery.

Knowledge of printing processes and graphic arts.

Package-formula compatibility studies (stability studies).
