About the role

From the UCH-CEU Veterinary Clinical Hospital at CEU Cardenal Herrera University, we are looking for Veterinary Technical Assistants (VTA) with training and experience in the areas of small and/or large animals to cover different temporary or structural needs across the various hospital departments.

What you'll do

  • Comprehensive clinical care: collaborating with the veterinary team in the care, treatment, and management of small and/or large animals.

  • Safe handling and restraint of animals during diagnostic, surgical, and therapeutic procedures.

  • Surgical theater and equipment preparation: sterilization, setup, and control of instruments and equipment.

  • Appointment management and workflow coordination to ensure proper patient care.

  • Providing basic information on care, treatments, and protocols, always under veterinary supervision.

  • Inventory control and restocking: overseeing the stock of medications, consumable materials, and equipment.

  • Recording and updating clinical records in internal systems.

  • Assistance with administrative tasks related to the hospital's daily operations across the different services.

  • Complying with the highest standards of animal welfare and biosecurity protocols.

Requirements

  • Veterinary Technical Assistant, Veterinary Assistant degree, or equivalent training in clinical care at veterinary centers.

  • Specialization and ongoing training as a VTA in the areas of small and/or large animals will be positively valued.

  • Previous experience in veterinary hospitals, zoos, care clinics, and/or animal research centers.

  • Technical skills in handling and restraining animals, as well as in hospital work, use of consumable materials, and specialized equipment.

  • Immediate availability (preferably).

  • Availability to work rotating shifts covering mornings, afternoons, and nights.
