What we're looking for

  • At least 6 months of experience with an employment contract in pathological anatomy or necropsies, and in biological sampling
  • Office automation skills at user level.
  • Valid Type B driver's license in Spain
  • Availability to go on board vessels (schedule flexibility is required as there may be even nighttime departures).
  • Be a registered member, and up to date with payments, in the Official College of Veterinarians

Nice to have

  • Verifiable training in Geographic Information Systems
  • Certification in Sport Diving (Open Water Diver, Padi Scuba Diver, FEDAS 1 star or similar)
  • Professional diving certification
  • From 6 months to 6 years of experience in marine fauna monitoring work, especially cetaceans, turtles, and marine birds (experience with an employment contract)
  • From 6 months to 5 years of experience in protected area and natural resource management work, including the drafting of reports on protected species monitoring activities (experience with an employment contract)
  • At least 100 hours of experience in training, educational, or outreach activities

Education & certifications

  • Bachelor's or Degree in Veterinary Medicine (MECES level 3) (degree officially recognized in Spain or certificate of equivalence issued by the General Secretariat of Universities)

Languages

  • English Level: B2

Tecnologías y Servicios Agrarios, S.A., S.M.E., M.P., a subsidiary company of the TRAGSA GROUP, specialized in performing engineering, consulting, and technical assistance activities in agricultural, livestock, forestry, and environmental matters, is looking to hire 1 Bachelor's or Graduate in Veterinary Medicine to replace a worker with a right to job reservation in Pontevedra.

What you'll do

  • Support work in the strandings of mammals, turtles, birds, and marine elasmobranchs
  • Awareness and sensitization regarding habitats and species and regarding marine spaces
  • Support work in marine bird censuses and monitoring of protected species
  • Supervise actions, uses, and activities that may affect protected marine spaces and species, within the scope of SPA zones and Marine Protected Areas
