Function 1: PATIENT CARE

1. Check that the patient is correctly identified, verifying the personal data appearing on the identification bracelet as well as in the medical history.
2. Assess the patient's needs and schedule nursing care and prescribed medication according to the corresponding medical procedure, while also resolving any doubts that may arise regarding this.
3. Accompany the Nephrologist during visits and procedures such as the placement of central lines, renal biopsies, and AVF, reviewing the necessary material and preparing the field with the help of auxiliary staff.
4. Monitor the patient's vital signs before the start of dialysis, every hour during the procedure, and whenever the patient's condition requires it, with special attention to blood pressure.
5. Train patients and family members in the promotion of healthy habits and provide them with adequate information regarding their progress, the characteristics of the unit, and the operating rules.
6. Participate in the control of nosocomial diseases, comply with established procedures, and control anticoagulation according to the patient's needs.
7. Extract and process the shipment of patient samples to the laboratory.

Function 2: SERVICE OPERATIONS

1. Establish and verify the safety limits for dialysis parameters.
2. Ensure the correct functioning of the treated water installation for hemodialysis.
3. Comply with the internal waste management plan.
4. Prepare the necessary material and set up the dialyzer and its lines.
5. Provide support to any team member and act in emergency situations following established protocols.
6. Check the availability of material, communicate needs to replenish stock if necessary, and verify that storage is carried out complying with the established criteria for order, safety, and preservation regarding temperature, ventilation, and humidity.
