Senior Software Engineer - Backend Focus

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with deep backend experience (5+ years) who wants to participate in the development of complex applications from start to finish.

What you will do:

• Take ideas from concept to classroom: understand the problem with the product, design the solution, build it, measure results, and iterate.

• Design and evolve the services and APIs that support the teachers' experience: domain modeling, architecture, performance, and reliability.

• Take care of how everything behaves in production: reliability, observability, incident response, and structural improvements.

• Participate in end-to-end development across the entire stack.

• Visit classrooms. The whole team visits schools at least once a quarter: you will see what you build in action and understand the "why" behind what we do.

Some of the challenges currently on the table: scaling the platform to integrate new school districts in the United States - rostering, massive data imports, multi-region coexistence - and continuing to grow the tools that help teachers understand how their students learn.

• You have built and delivered complex products from start to finish, and you can show us.

• You master backend development - APIs, data modeling, asynchronous processing, SQL - with PHP (Symfony) and/or Python (FastAPI), and you have the judgment to move between them as needed.

• You have applied hexagonal architecture, TDD, DDD, and CQRS in real products and you know when they add value.

• You have a growth mindset and the use of AI agents has changed how you develop in the last year (while maintaining quality and good practices!).

• You have a product engineer mindset, with a genuine interest in understanding users and solving their problems.

• You care about how your code behaves in production, not just whether tests pass.

• You enjoy working in a team and you raise the bar for the people around you.

Buscamos a un/a Senior Software Engineer con una experiencia profunda en backend (5+ años) que quiera participar en el desarrollo de aplicaciones complejas de principio a fin.

Qué harás:

• Llevar features de la idea al aula: entender el problema con producto y diseño, diseñar la solución, construirla, medir resultados e iterarla.

• Diseñar y evolucionar los servicios y APIs que sostienen la experiencia de los docentes: modelado de dominio, arquitectura, consistencia, rendimiento.

• Cuidar cómo se comporta todo en producción: fiabilidad, observabilidad, incidentes y mejoras estructurales.

• Participar en el desarrollo end to end en todo el stack.

• Visitar aulas. Todo el equipo visita escuelas al menos una vez por trimestre: verás en acción lo que has construido y entenderás el porqué de lo que hacemos.

Algunos de los retos que hay ahora mismo sobre la mesa: escalar la plataforma para la integración de nuevos distritos escolares en Estados Unidos - rostering, importaciones masivas de datos, convivencia multi-región - y seguir haciendo crecer las herramientas con las que un docente entiende cómo aprende su clase.

• Has construido y entregado producto complejo de principio a fin, y nos lo puedes enseñar.

• Dominas el desarrollo backend - APIs, modelado de datos, asincronía, SQL - con PHP (Symfony) y/o Python (FastAPI), y tienes criterio para moverte entre ambos.

• Has aplicado arquitectura hexagonal, DDD, TDD y CQRS en producto real y sabes cuándo aportan más.

• Tienes una mentalidad de crecimiento constante y el uso de agentes ha cambiado tu flujo de desarrollo radicalmente en el último año (¡manteniendo la calidad y buenas prácticas!).

• Tienes una mentalidad de ingeniero de producto, con un interés real por conocer a los usuarios y resolver sus problemas.

• Te importa cómo se comporta tu código en producción, no solo que pasen los tests.

• Te gusta trabajar en equipo y elevas el nivel de la gente a tu alrededor.
