Ambulance Coordinator (Balearic Islands)

At Paul Marlex, we are collaborating with a major private hospital located in the Balearic Islands that is currently seeking an ambulance coordinator to join their team.

General Management and Supervision:

• Responsible for organizing the medical transport team: doctors, nurses, and technicians.
• On-site daily supervision of the service.
• Clear and effective communication with staff and with the various departments of the hospital or center.
• Ensuring rapid responses to incidents or emergencies.

Human Resources Management:

• Planning and supervising staff assigned to the ambulance service (schedules, vacations, rest days, absences).
• Managing temporary hires or reinforcements as needed.
• Adapting the team to seasonal service variability:
  • Summer: high demand, 24-hour shifts, greater staffing needs.
  • Winter: lower workload, 12-hour shifts.
• Identifying training needs and proposing improvements in staff skills (annual plan of mandatory training).

Protocols and Service Organization:

• Developing and implementing clinical and non-clinical protocols.
• Ensuring all professionals work under the same methodology (uniform guidelines, protocols, and action criteria). This prevents confusion, duplication of duties, and contradictory decisions. For example: using a single criterion for dispatching an ambulance, a standardized procedure for cleaning equipment after a transfer, and clearly defined shifts and roles that must be followed.
• Updating and monitoring clinical and operational guidelines.
• Controlling and continuously improving the workflow, identifying inefficiencies (delays in ambulance departures, confusion in shift handovers, delayed emergency responses due to lack of coordination, etc.).

Material Resources Management:

• Controlling inventory, expiration dates, and stock of supplies and medication.
• Managing the warehouse to ensure availability and proper organization of materials.
• Coordinating with the pharmacy and logistics services.
• Supervising vehicle maintenance and control.

Service Evaluation and Quality Improvement:

• Preparing performance reports.
• Identifying incidents, analyzing causes, and implementing corrective actions.
• Proposing continuous improvements in the quality of care and operational performance of the service.

• Professional with experience in out-of-hospital settings.
• Knowledge of personnel management and healthcare resources.
• Ability to take on ambulance shifts.
