Principal AI & Software Engineer

• Extensive experience in software engineering, ideally in positions such as Principal Engineer, Staff Engineer, Lead Engineer, or similar.
• Demonstrable experience implementing AI solutions in production.
• Practical knowledge of Agentic AI, AI Agents, MCP, UCP, LLMs, RAG, tool calling, or other related approaches.
• Ability to design scalable, maintainable, secure systems prepared for enterprise environments.
• Understanding of opportunities, risks, limitations, and trade-offs of AI solutions.
• Technical depth, strategic vision, and a pragmatic approach: capable of identifying where AI provides real value, when it is not the right solution, and how to bring it to production responsibly.

At Métrica España we are looking for a Principal AI & Software Engineer with extensive experience in software engineering and the delivery of Artificial Intelligence solutions in real business environments.

The selected person will lead the design and implementation of solutions based on Agentic AI, AI Agents, MCP (Model Context Protocol), UCP, and similar technologies. They will be responsible for connecting business needs with technical architecture and execution, ensuring scalable, secure solutions with tangible impact.

• Design and implement AI solutions for real-world use cases.
• Define architectures for AI Agents, agentic systems, MCP, UCP, and related technologies.
• Evaluate business value, technical feasibility, risks, and limitations of each initiative.
• Participate in strategic decisions regarding architecture and technological evolution.
• Translate complex technical capabilities into clear proposals for business and technology stakeholders.
• Technically lead complex initiatives, establish best practices, and mentor other engineering profiles.
• Question and guide technological decisions with judgment, pragmatism, and business vision.
