The role

We are looking for an Engineering Manager responsible for leading teams in the Purchase domain (cart, checkout, and payments), ensuring the stability, availability, and continuous improvement of critical systems for revenue. The role combines team leadership, operational management, and metric-based decision-making, with a focus on conversion and reliability.

What you'll do

Leading development teams within the Purchase domain (cart, checkout, and payments).
Ensuring the stability, availability, and reliability of the checkout system.
Ensuring the continuous delivery of improvements without compromising operational stability.
Managing complex distributed systems with high availability and low latency.
Reducing critical incidents, payment failures, and conversion issues.
Measuring and optimizing performance using DORA metrics, latency, uptime, and conversion rate.
Designing and improving incident management processes (reducing MTTR and recurring errors).
Managing load spikes while ensuring system resilience.
Defining clear ownership over critical services (cart, checkout, payment integrations).
Collaborating closely with Product, Payments, Fraud, and Order Management teams.
Translating business needs into measurable improvements in conversion and user experience.
Balancing time-to-market against system stability and reliability.
Participating in technical decisions alongside Tech Leads (architecture, resilience, integrations).
Promoting the use of AI to improve operational efficiency and incident analysis.
Ensuring the scalability of teams and systems without degrading performance or stability.

Summary

Participate in challenging projects with cutting-edge technologies.
You will have autonomy to propose solutions and lead technically.

Who are we looking for (M/F/D)?

Experience as an Engineering Manager in business-critical systems.
Experience in eCommerce, payments, fintech, or transactional system environments.
Knowledge of distributed systems and microservices architectures.
Experience with third-party integrations (APIs, PSPs, external services).
Experience in highly available 24/7 environments.
Ability to work with technical and business metrics (DORA, latency, conversion).
Experience managing critical incidents and high-pressure environments.
Knowledge of technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Kubernetes, and CI/CD (valued).
Leadership skills and ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to make decisions under pressure and communicate with non-technical stakeholders.
Strong focus on business impact and revenue.
Ability to balance delivery, stability, and technical strategy.
