The role

Company Description

The Senior Business Analyst will be a hands-on analysis partner for NIQ business stakeholders and Enterprise
Productivity technology teams. The primary responsibility is to work closely with EP Tech Leads to surface
business needs, define problems, elicit and document requirements, assess use cases, and validate that
proposed and delivered capabilities address the agreed business need.

The role will also support the EP Owner with a concise, current view of the status of each stream. These are
supporting responsibilities. The role is principally accountable for delivering high-quality business analysis and
helping business and technology teams reach clear, evidence-based decisions.

Job Description

Key responsibilities
Business discovery and requirements

  • Act as the principal Business Analyst partner for assigned EP streams, working directly with Tech Leads, business sponsors, subject matter experts, and users throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Identify operational pain points, user needs, process gaps, improvement opportunities, and use cases that warrant assessment.
  • Plan and facilitate interviews, discovery sessions, and workshops that clarify current processes, business rules, constraints, desired outcomes, and affected users.
  • Analyze incomplete or conflicting inputs, identify gaps and assumptions, and turn them into a clear problem statement and agreed scope.
  • Produce fit-for-purpose analysis artifacts such as process maps, user journeys, functional and nonfunctional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and decision records.
  • Trace requirements from the original business need through design, delivery, validation, and release, keeping changes and open questions visible.
  • Manage requirement changes and clarify their implications for scope, users, dependencies, controls, and expected outcomes.

Use case assessment and validation

  • Define the business value, target users, expected outcomes, scope, assumptions, dependencies, risks, and success measures for each use case.
  • Challenge unclear requests and solution-led assumptions constructively, helping stakeholders distinguishthe underlying need from a preferred implementation.
  • Give Tech Leads the business context and stakeholder access needed to assess feasibility, solution options, and delivery implications.
  • Coordinate business review of requirements, prototypes, proofs of concept, and delivered capabilities at the appropriate points in the lifecycle.
  • Confirm that acceptance criteria and validation evidence address the original problem and agreed outcomes, escalating material gaps or changes.

Stakeholder partnership

  • Build effective working relationships with business sponsors, users, subject matter experts, Tech Leads, product and delivery partners, and relevant control functions.
  • Set clear expectations for stakeholder participation, decisions, approvals, and validation activities.
  • Facilitate discussions where needs or requirements conflict, document the outcome, and escalate unresolved decisions with clear options and implications.
  • Support adoption and outcome reviews by ensuring affected users understand the change and business sponsors can assess whether the intended need was met.

Stream status support

  • Help the EP Owner maintain a concise, current view of each stream, including overall status, key milestones, blockers, risks, dependencies, decisions, and next actions.
  • Collect and verify updates with stream owners, focusing leadership attention on material changes and items that need a decision or intervention.
