The role

At Randstad, we are selecting a Senior PLC Programmer for an important and innovative leading company in the design and manufacture of machinery to join their engineering department on a permanent basis.

What you'll do

Reporting to the automation manager, you will be responsible for:

Control software development: Programming from scratch and parameterization of controllers (PLC) and operator screens (HMI/SCADA) for machinery and continuous lines.

Motion control and drives: Configuration and parameterization of servomotors, frequency drives, and axis synchronization.

Communication network integration: Configuration of industrial fieldbuses (Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.).

Testing and validation in workshop (FAT): Functional and electrical verification alongside the assembly team before equipment shipment.

Commissioning at final customer site (SAT): Commissioning of machinery and lines at customer facilities, ensuring the optimization of cycle times and required performance.

Support and documentation: Resolution of advanced faults (on-site and remote assistance), as well as drafting technical manuals and functional specifications.

Requirements

Education: Higher Vocational Training in Industrial Automation and Robotics, Mechatronics, or a Degree in Engineering (Electronics, Automation, or similar).

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in programming and commissioning of industrial machinery or capital goods (experience in the food or packaging sector is valued).

Essential technical knowledge

Proficiency in standard market programming environments (preferably Siemens TIA Portal with S7-1200/1500 and WinCC, or equivalent platforms such as Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Omron, or Schneider).

Handling of drives and servodrives (Motion Control).

Regulations: Knowledge of machine safety (Machinery Directive and functional safety).

Availability: Availability to travel occasionally to perform commissioning at the final customer site.

Driving license B.
