About the role
Important company in the chemical sector seeks to hire a temporary Shipping Operator for its Chartering and Operations department at its headquarters in Madrid.
What you'll do
Operational Management and Monitoring: Proactive monitoring of vessels to meet the delivery schedule for clients and terminals, taking responsibility for operations and incidents until their resolution.
Documentation and Communication: Issuance and sending of fixtures, loading instructions, and periodic updates to clients, terminals, commercial lines, and brokers.
SAP/GTM Management: Coordination of SAP/GTM interfaces, management of terminal replenishments, sales transportation in SAP, and monthly provisioning of transport costs, including invoice control and approval.
Demurrage Control: Critical analysis, calculation, and management of vessel demurrage. Identification of costs passed on to third parties (clients, owners, terminals) and discussion of discrepancies with owners.
What we're looking for
Education: University degree. Shipbroking Course from the Spanish Maritime Institute or similar is highly valued.
Experience: Between 2 and 3 years in a similar role within the maritime/logistics sector.
Languages: English (high level, spoken and written), used daily in a professional environment.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in SAP, GTM, TD Module (Maritime Transport), and Microsoft Office. Solid knowledge of demurrage calculation and management.
