The role

Important company in the chemical sector seeks to hire temporarily a Shipping Operator for its Chartering and Operations department at its head offices in Madrid.

What you'll do

Operational Management and Monitoring: Proactive monitoring of vessels to meet delivery schedules for clients and terminals, taking responsibility for operations and incidents until their resolution.

Documentation and Communication: Issuing and sending fixing instructions, loading instructions, and periodic updates to clients, terminals, shipping lines, and brokers.

SAP/GTM Management: Managing SAP/GTM interfaces, managing terminal replenishments, managing sales transport in SAP, and monthly management of transport costs, including the review and acceptance of invoices.

Demurrage Management: Analysis, critical review, calculation, and management of vessel demurrage. Identification of costs recoverable from third parties (clients, owners, terminals) and discussion of discrepancies with owners.

Requirements

Education: University degree. A Chartering Course from the Spanish Maritime Institute (Instituto Marítimo Español) or similar is highly valued.

Experience: Between 2 and 3 years in a similar role within the shipping/logistics sector.

Languages: Advanced level of English (spoken and written), used daily in a professional environment.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in SAP, GTM, TD Module (Sea Transport), and Microsoft Office tools. Solid knowledge in calculating and managing demurrage.
