About Spainwise English Teaching Jobs
Spainwise English Teaching Jobs is a specialized job board and recruitment platform focused exclusively on English teaching positions across Spain. It connects international and local English teachers with schools, academies, and language institutions in various Spanish cities and regions, including Seville, Bilbao, Madrid, and the Basque Country. The platform lists a wide range of roles, from full-time and part-time teaching positions to substitution and corporate English teaching jobs, as well as professional development opportunities like Trinity CertTESOL qualifications.
For international professionals, Spainwise is a practical entry point into the Spanish education sector, offering a centralized list of vacancies that often do not require prior experience in Spain. The platform is particularly relevant for native or fluent English speakers looking to teach in Spain, as it provides access to schools across the country, from urban centers to smaller towns. While Spainwise itself is not an employer, it acts as a facilitator, helping candidates find positions and navigate the Spanish teaching job market, making it a useful resource for those relocating to Spain for work.

Good to know if you are moving
- The platform lists teaching jobs across Spain, including in smaller towns and cities, offering opportunities beyond the major hubs.
- Many positions are open to international candidates, with some requiring native-level English proficiency.
- The site also advertises certification courses like Trinity CertTESOL, which can help international teachers gain recognized qualifications.
- Roles vary from full-time to part-time and substitution, providing flexibility for different career stages.
- The platform is a job board, not an employer, so candidates apply directly to the schools or academies.
In their own words
About the company & team
Star English Academy is a well-established English language school founded in 1989 by James Kelly and Caroline Nixon, author of Kid's Box and Power Up. With over 30 years of experience, Star English offers a stable and professional environment for teachers who want long-term development.
The academy has two convenient locations in the Murcia region. One centre is in El Palmar, about eight kilometres from Murcia. El Palmar is home to the region's main university teaching hospital, Hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca, and is well connected to the city centre by frequent buses. The centre sits near the foothills of the Sierra de Carrascoy Regional Park, offering a relaxed setting and easy access to nature. The coast is just a 30-minute drive away.
The second centre is in Murcia city centre, with excellent transport links, including buses and nearby motorways.
Star English has a strong, supportive academic team. In addition to the founders, we have ten other teachers and two experienced Heads of Studies: Lyndsay, who joined in 2007, and Miguel, who joined in 2009. Both provide academic support, guidance, and mentoring throughout the year.
We pride ourselves on combining high professional standards with a friendly and close-knit staff culture. Many teachers choose to renew their contracts year after year, thanks to this supportive environment.
