What we're looking for

Target experience of 5 or more years in data engineering, with relevant participation in production solutions and demonstrable autonomy, with at least 3 years in cloud data platforms and in client projects.
Practical mastery of advanced SQL with performance optimization (execution plans, partitioning, clustering) and Python, source integration, data modeling, and ETL/ELT pipeline design. Modeling methodologies: dimensional/Kimball, Data Vault, SCD, and 3NF.
Distributed processing with Spark/PySpark (batch, streaming).
Solid experience in at least one data platform, such as Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Microsoft Fabric, or Cloudera, Glue, Dataproc, and in a cloud or equivalent environment.
Experience with transformation and orchestration, version control, testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and incident resolution, as well as dbt and Airflow or equivalents (Data Factory, Cloud Composer, Databricks Workflows) and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
Lakehouse architectures and open formats (Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg, Parquet) and data quality frameworks (dbt tests, Great Expectations, or similar).
Fluent Spanish and professional English for documentation and technical collaboration.
Work in agile methodologies and direct communication with business and clients.
We seek depth in a coherent combination of tools and adaptability. Advanced statistical modeling and predictive model development will be handled by practice specialists.

The role

At Grupo Tecdata, we continue to drive our Data & IA practice and are looking to hire a Senior Data Engineer with experience in the design, development, and evolution of data platforms in cloud environments.

You will join a specialized team, participating in strategic projects for clients, designing scalable data architectures, and developing solutions for the processing, transformation, and exploitation of large volumes of information.

We are looking for a profile with technical autonomy, architectural vision, and the ability to work directly with both technical and business teams.

What you'll do

Design and implement batch data pipelines, models, and architectures and, when the case requires it, real-time processing.
Participate in migrations and modernization of platforms; justify decisions regarding integration, storage, and transformation.
Optimize performance, reliability, and cost, incorporating testing, observability, fault recovery, and operational procedures.
Implement quality controls, traceability, lineage, and data access, coordinating privacy and security requirements with the corresponding stakeholders.
Prepare data and exchange contracts for BI, analytics, and predictive ML; collaborate with specialists in their production deployment.
Coordinate with the AI team regarding the sources, updates, permissions, and quality of the data that feed RAG solutions and agents.
Act as a technical project leader when assigned: decompose work, review code, mentor, and manage technical risks.
Provide estimates, designs, and demonstrations for proposals and PoCs, alongside the Data Lead and the commercial team.
Develop accelerators and reusable standards and transfer knowledge between internal teams and collaborators.
