About the role

Your mission will be to design, develop, integrate, and certify the best technical solutions to offer:

What you'll do

  • A platform that provides a DBaaS (Database as a Service) service, deployed on virtual infrastructure offered by a platform based on RHOSO (Red Hat OpenStack Services on OpenShift) and/or OCP (OpenShift Container Platform) owned by Telefónica Tech.
  • The aforementioned DBaaS platform must be based on some of the most recognized market solutions (Aiven, Severalnines, Instaclustr, etc.) that allow us to offer our clients the deployment and administration of databases on private and public clouds, enabling all database administration tasks such as creation, backup, patching, monitoring, etc., and covering different types of databases: relational, document, in-memory/cache, event streaming, etc.
  • Platforms with serverless capabilities, FaaS (Function as a Service), data streaming, and workflows.

Within this scope of technical solutions, your main day-to-day tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Designing and evolving PaaS solutions and services, defining their functional and technical architecture, integrating vendor technologies and proprietary developments based on APIs.
  • Collaborating with Product Management in the technical definition and design of new services and improvements to existing platforms.
  • Integrating service platforms with corporate infrastructure (network, storage, backup), OSS/BSS systems, and security tools.
  • Defining and automating validation plans, testing, and platform certification, including the integration and use of APIs.
  • Ensuring the security, availability, capacity, and regulatory compliance of solutions (ENS, ISO 20000, ISO 27001, DORA, among others).
  • Creating and maintaining technical and operational documentation for services, as well as training engineering and support teams.
  • Designing and validating update, deployment, and technological evolution strategies for platforms in development, certification, and production environments.
  • Providing technical support to business and engineering areas in defining and monitoring SLAs, platform capacity, and operational metrics.

Essential: professional experience in similar roles and with experience and knowledge in the following technological aspects:

  • Experience in the design, deployment, and operation of multi-cloud DBaaS platforms, preferably based on leading market solutions (Aiven, Severalnines, Instaclustr, or similar).
  • Knowledge of relational, NoSQL, cache, and data streaming databases (Oracle, SQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Redis, Kafka, among others).
  • Experience in cloud and serverless architectures (public, private, or hybrid), including integration through APIs, events, and process automation.
  • Knowledge of observability, security, and governance of distributed platforms.
  • Experience or knowledge in IaaS platforms for multi-cloud environments, preferably based on OpenStack, VMware Cloud Foundation, or equivalent technologies.
  • Experience in backup solutions, SAN/NAS storage, and object storage, as well as corporate network infrastructures will be valued.
  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI) and knowledge of ITIL methodologies will be valued.
  • University degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines.
