What we're looking for

More than 6 years of experience in backend development with C# and .NET, preferably in senior positions.
Experience with .NET 8/9/10 or modern versions.
Experience in the design and development of microservices and REST APIs.
Experience in distributed systems and asynchronous communication.
Solid knowledge of hexagonal architecture and Clean Architecture.
Experience with messaging systems such as RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, or Kafka.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience working with SQL databases.
Experience in unit testing with xUnit, NUnit, or equivalent tools.
Familiarity with AI tools applied to development, such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar.
Ability to work from technical specifications, participating in the design and definition of solutions.
Experience working in agile methodologies.

Nice to have

Knowledge or experience in Spec-Driven Development (SDD).
Familiarity with OpenSpec, Spec-Anchored, or similar approaches.
Experience working with AI agents and large language models (LLMs).
Knowledge of Model Context Protocol (MCP).
Experience in legacy application modernization or migrating monoliths to microservices.
Knowledge of DDD, CQRS, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
Experience in cloud environments, especially Microsoft Azure.
Knowledge of Angular for occasional frontend collaborations.

The role

At Vortech PCI Group we continue to grow and are looking to hire a Senior Backend Engineer specializing in .NET, with a special focus on Spec-Driven Development (SDD), to collaborate on a strategic technological modernization project with one of our international clients in the software sector.

We are looking for a senior profile clearly oriented towards backend, with solid experience in C#/.NET, microservices, modern architectures, distributed systems, and engineering best practices.

The project works under a Spec-Driven Development (SDD) approach, where technical specifications guide the design and development of solutions, supported by artificial intelligence tools for code generation and review. Previous specific experience in SDD is not required. We especially value profiles with a solid foundation in backend engineering, accustomed to working with technical specifications and with experience or interest in applying AI tools to software development.

What you'll do

Design and develop backend solutions using C# and modern .NET.
Participate in technological modernization projects and the evolution of applications towards modern architectures.
Design and implement REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
Participate in the definition and review of technical specifications that guide the development of solutions.
Work under a Spec-Driven Development approach, using specifications as a reference for AI-assisted development.
Use artificial intelligence tools to support code generation, testing, refactoring, and technical review.
Apply principles of hexagonal architecture, Clean Architecture, SOLID, and engineering best practices.
Design and implement integrations and asynchronous communications between services.
Participate in architectural decisions, code reviews, and continuous improvement processes.
Collaborate with international technical teams in agile environments.

How you'll work

Location: Madrid, Paseo de la Castellana.
Modality: hybrid, with 2 days on-site per week.
Participation in an international technological modernization project.
Technical environment with modern technologies, good architectural practices, and artificial intelligence applied to development.
