Our Power and New Energy team delivers advisory and engineering consulting services across utility-scale renewable generation, battery energy storage systems, hybrid power systems, grid integration, transmission and distribution networks, power system studies and energy infrastructure projects. We work with clients from the early stages of project development through feasibility, concept selection, due diligence, owner's engineering, project execution and operational optimization. Our global network of specialists enables us to provide independent, high-value technical expertise while supporting some of the world's most complex energy infrastructure projects.

Position Overview

(Europe) Technical Consultant - BESS & Power

Worley Consulting is seeking a Renewable Energy Engineer (European based) with several years of professional experience to join our Power and New Energy business.

The successful candidate will support the delivery of technical consulting services focused on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Solar PV projects across Europe, the Middle East and other international markets. Experience in wind power projects is considered an advantage.

Working alongside experienced consultants and subject matter experts, the candidate will contribute to feasibility studies, conceptual design activities, owner's engineering assignments, technical due diligence projects and engineering support services throughout the project development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Support the execution of technical activities including:

• Conceptual design of utility-scale BESS and Solar PV projects.
• Development of Basis of Design documents.
• Technical due diligence assignments for renewable energy projects.
• Review of EPC contractor and OEM technical documentation.
• Grid connection assessments and renewable project development studies.
• Support preparation of technical specifications and tender documentation.
• Energy yield and performance assessments.
• Support feasibility and pre-feasibility studies.
• Support business development and proposal preparation activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Several years of experience in renewable energy projects.
• Experience in Solar PV and/or BESS projects.
• Experience in Wind projects is desirable but not required.
• Basic understanding of electrical power systems and grid connections.
• Familiarity with renewable energy project development processes.

• Basic knowledge of PowerFactory, ETAP or similar tools

• Robust technical foundation with a hands-on approach to technical assignments, combined with effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn and contribute proactively to project objectives.
• Collaborative team player who works effectively within multidisciplinary and multicultural teams, building positive working relationships.
• Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and a strong commitment to continuous learning, proactively staying current with industry trends, emerging technologies, standards, and best practices relevant to their discipline.
• Developing commercial awareness and a consulting mindset, with an interest in understanding client needs and contributing to practical, value-added solutions.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) is essential. Proficiency in additional languages, particularly Arabic, Spanish, German, or Dutch, would be considered an advantage.
• Good organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities across different projects in a dynamic environment.
• Willingness to take initiative, seek feedback, and continuously improve both technical and professional capabilities.
