About the role

Hello!

I'm Paula, the recruiter for this position. I love to travel, especially to international destinations, and sushi is my favorite food. I'm also passionate about flamenco fashion and enjoy dancing sevillanas. As you can see, enthusiasm and diversity are part of my daily life. Nice to meet you!

Maybe this is the tenth job posting you've read today, on the sofa with Netflix on in the background, or in the middle of a career change... and they all seem the same to you.

Let me be clear with you: at Zurich we're not perfect, but we're pretty awesome! And if you want to know why, keep reading.

First of all, THANK YOU for taking an interest in our company. We know that searching for new opportunities is often a challenge, but... don't worry, everything comes in time!

Let's get down to business! I'll try to sum up our DNA for you in 2 points:

  • We love volunteering, but we prefer to be activists for change. How? By focusing on young people at risk of social exclusion or fighting climate change through actions such as reforesting forests in Madrid and Doñana National Park. In 2024, we completed more than 20,000 hours of activism.
  • At Zurich, we say it loud and clear: we are proud of our colors and we believe a diverse team makes a difference. Here we don't talk about disability, we talk about ability. Being able to be yourself is our priority, with no closets standing between us and no glass ceilings. 50% of our management positions are held by women (including the Executive Committee).

Did you know we produce our own podcasts about sexual identity? We are building a company where everyone is welcome.

And you're probably asking: Paula, what will my day-to-day be like wearing the blue shirt? I love that you're asking me this question (I asked it myself back in the day):

What you'll do

  • You will be responsible for the maintenance, control, continuous improvement, and management of the network of external suppliers and professionals who, in your area of operation, provide services for the Company's Miscellaneous Risks claims.
  • You will negotiate with these external networks the optimal service levels and rates, up to the agreed authority levels and in accordance with the Company's Global Claims policy. You will also provide support in negotiations that exceed your level of autonomy.
  • You will analyze new applications in accordance with established policies.
  • You will act as a liaison between the company and external suppliers or professionals, ensure that the agreements established by the company are met, and periodically audit their service.
  • You will monitor compliance with existing regulations and collaborate on their development and optimization. You will seek continuous improvement and implement best practices, reviewing and analyzing the processes and policies for managing external suppliers/professionals.
  • You will be responsible, in your area of operation, for the segmentation and optimal sizing of the network of Miscellaneous Risks suppliers and professionals, and for the proper flow of volumes (work assignments) within it. With the main objective of controlling the evolution of the average cost and ensuring an optimal level of service and satisfaction for Zurich's customers.
  • You will hold meetings and travel to correct incidents or problems in the network of Miscellaneous Risks suppliers and professionals in your area of operation. You will periodically carry out on-site audits.
  • You will promote the use of new surveying technologies and help encourage the routing of work to partners.
  • You will support and promote the fight against fraud.
  • You will provide technical advice to the claims structure and the Regional Directorates as a key point of contact, ensuring compliance with claims conformity processes and good governance.
  • You will maintain fluid communication with internal teams in order to obtain the necessary information to support the good performance of suppliers.
  • You will keep an eye on competitor activity to ensure the company maintains a competitive advantage and will seek to manage our suppliers according to the best standards and practices in the sector.
  • You will always keep your professional and technical knowledge up to date by attending training seminars, building your network, and participating in industry events.

What we're looking for

At this point, you're probably wondering, how do I know if I'm a good fit?

Don't worry, I'm not going to ask you to save the planet or meet 100% of the requirements.

  • If you have a Technical Degree, preferably in Engineering or Architecture, it will be much easier for you!
  • If you have proven experience in managing supplier/professional networks and in surveying Miscellaneous Risks, this is your opportunity!
  • If you're good at problem-solving, adapt well to change, are a proactive person, and don't get overwhelmed by complex situations, you'll enjoy this job.
  • The position is located in Bilbao; however, we need flexibility and availability to travel.
  • We like to put the customer at the center, so your ability to identify them as a priority will be key.
  • Communication is very important in this role, so if you consider yourself an empathetic person with leadership skills, we're already closer to making a match.

What you'll get

At Zurich, we really know how to enjoy life, we like to live it to the fullest. You'll have to tell me how we can make you happy, but I love being able to balance my work with my personal life. Here, flexible working hours and digital disconnection are real.

#BecauseOfZurich, you can choose the benefits that best suit your needs. After all, there's no accounting for taste.

  • We offer you a mega-flexible hybrid model to work how and where you want within Spain. We help you out with a home office allowance.
  • We believe in the learning-by-doing philosophy so you can move to other areas locally or internationally through our "Talent in Motion" program. And to support your development and growth: English classes, training, and a personalized mentoring program.
  • We want to shake up your idea of flexible compensation. With our benefits package, you can choose what best fits you and your needs: health insurance, childcare, training, restaurant tickets... and much more!
  • We like to put smiles on people's faces, and at Zurich we know it's easier than it seems, which is why we're activists. And why not dedicate a whole day to the cause that motivates you the most?
  • Referral bonus if you recommend a talent like yourself to us. We're not looking for anyone perfect, but if you know someone who's awesome, share my contact with them, I'd love to meet them.
  • If you have a sporting spirit, at Zurich we're going for gold! Marathons, races, gym discounts, and much more. 3, 2, 1... warm up, here we go!
  • Are you more of a beach person or a mountain person? You'll have 25 vacation days, plus the insurance day and your birthday off, so you can enjoy what you love most. But don't be fooled, it's about true disconnection. Because yes, we all deserve a little break and to enjoy life, it's short.
  • At Zurich, we think about your future and offer you a retirement plan and life insurance.
  • We look for the best prices for you! You'll have access to thousands of discounts on insurance and banking products.

Hiring process

Right now, you're either feeling the excitement of when a pair of pants fits perfectly, or you're thinking: "this isn't for me" (if it's not for you, no problem, we'll cross paths again in the future). You can play matchmaker and share my contact with anyone you think might be a good fit.

If you've made it this far, THANK YOU for reading me. What did you think? Are we awesome or what?

If you've felt butterflies in your stomach and think we're a good match, send up smoke signals, or your CV, if smoke isn't your thing.

And to wrap things up, do you want to know what other people who are part of Zurich think? I'd say that our continued recognition as a Top Employer in Spain is a good calling card, but I encourage you to take a look at our Glassdoor profile so they can tell you themselves. No tricks, no gimmicks.

I hope to meet you very soon.

Paula Moreno.
